Kildwick

The Church of St Andrew is an Anglican parish church in the village of Kildwick, North Yorkshire, England. A church has been in Kildwick since at least 950 AD, though the current structure dates back to the 16th century, but in its oldest parts are c. 12th century. The church was one of only two being recorded in Craven at the time of the Domesday survey, and was historically known as the Lang Kirk of Craven as it is unusually long for a parish church. It has a split graveyard, with a small portion to the north of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, and the larger graveyard to the south of the canal surrounding the church.

Farnhill is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated near Sutton-in-Craven and about 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east of Skipton. Farnhill is also across the canal from Kildwick and there is a church in Kildwick. There is a primary school next to the church and Farnhill backs up on to the moors. There are around 500 people living in Farnhill. To the south of the village is Farnhill Hall, a Grade I listed fortified manor house, dating from the 15th century but much altered.

Kildwick and Crosshills [sic] was a railway station off Station Road in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire (formerly West Riding of Yorkshire), England. It served the villages of Cross Hills, Cowling, Glusburn, Kildwick and Sutton-in-Craven.

South Craven School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire, England. It is the largest school in the Craven District and carries over 1,700 pupils. The school has formed partnerships with The Ogden Trust, Airedale NHS Trust a prominent employer in the local area, Craven College a local further education college and long-term partner Bradford University who work closely on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the school, Leeds Trinity University, Leeds College of Music and finally the Bradford Local Authority. South Craven School became an academy on 1 May 2011.

Cross Hills is a village in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England that is situated halfway between Skipton and Keighley. The village is at the centre of a built-up area that includes the adjoining settlements of Glusburn, Kildwick, Eastburn and Sutton-in-Craven. Cross Hills is the newer part of the civil parish now called Glusburn and Cross Hills, historically known as Glusburn.

Glusburn is a village and electoral ward in Craven in North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the village is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, sits on the A6068 Kildwick to Hapton road, and is conjoined to the village of Sutton-in-Craven at the south. The village is the older part of the civil parish of Glusburn and Cross Hills, historically known as Glusburn. The newer part of the parish is known as Cross Hills. The parish had a population of 3,902, increasing to 3,980 at the 2011 Census.

Sutton-in-Craven is a village, electoral ward and (as just Sutton) a civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England that is situated in the Aire Valley between Skipton and Keighley. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, in 2001 the population was 3,480, increasing to 3,714 at the Census 2011. The village is adjacent to Glusburn and Cross Hills, but although these three effectively form a small town, Sutton village maintains its distinct identity.

Bradley is a village in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated between Skipton and Keighley, approximately 1⁄2 mile (800 m) from the A629 and 2 miles (3 km) from the nearby town of Skipton. Bradley is divided into two parts, the hamlet of High Bradley and the village of Low Bradley, known collectively as Bradleys Both although traditionally the village used to be named Bradley Ambo.

Horace Mills is a former textile mill in Cononley, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. In 1837, two separately owned textile mills were built close together and in parallel, by the River Aire. They became known as the High Mill and Low Mill. The Low Mill was divided into two sections, each undertaking weaving, while the High Mill was a single operation, and undertook both spinning and weaving. The 1841 census recorded that around 500 people, three-quarters of the Cononley workforce, were working in the textile industry. From 1852, the two mills were under common ownership, although Low Mill was later demolished. In 1866, a further mill, the Aireside or New Mill, was constructed on the other side of the Aire, and in 1880, this mill was purchased by the owner of the High Mill, which later became known as Station Mill. Despite these changes, by 1881, the proportion of textile workers had declined to under one half of those employed in Cononley. In 1905, Station Mill was purchased by Peter Green & Co, which continued to produce textiles. In 1910, it partly rebuilt the mill, adding a fourth floor, and possibly reconstructing the north wall, with larger windows. The southern part of the mill was given over to the production of motors, under the direction of Peter Green's son, Horace. The site was steadily expanded over the following decades, and during World War II, it produced high frequency alternators for ADSIC. The company closed in 1997. Meanwhile, the larger part of the Aireside Mill was destroyed in a fire in 1992, the remaining single-storey section becoming an business park. Following the closure of Peter Green, Station Mill stood derelict for several years. It was later converted into apartments by Candelisa, and renamed "Horace Mill". The building retains its bellcote and Venetian window.

Eastburn is a village within the Steeton with Eastburn civil parish, in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District, West Yorkshire, England. The road through Eastburn is approximately 1/2 mile long with a post office, fish and chip shop and a public house called The NightingGale; The village also contains a school (Eastburn Junior & Infant School), a small chapel, a farm, a factory (Cinetic Landis Ltd) and a former mill building which houses many business, including a fitness centre and furniture showroom.

Cononley railway station serves the village of Cononley in North Yorkshire, England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Northern. It was originally opened in late 1847, at a cost of £900, by the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway. It was closed on 22 March 1965, though its platforms remained intact and the main buildings survived until the mid-1970s.It was reopened by British Rail on 20 April 1988 at a cost of £34,000, which was borne by the county, district and local parish councils and the Rural Development Commission. The station has two platforms and is right beside Cononley's main street. Step-free access is available to both platforms, via the level crossing at the Skipton end of the station. It is unstaffed but has now been fitted with ticket machines (one on the southbound platform and the other on the northbound side adjacent to the exit) to allow passengers to buy before travelling. An automated Tannoy system and digital information screens provide train running information to passengers.

The Old Corn Mill is a historic building in Bradley, North Yorkshire, a village in England. A watermill was first recorded in Bradley in 1314, although it is unknown whether this was on the site of the current mill. The current building is 18th century, and is depicted on a map of 1791. It was heightened, probably in the 19th century. The mill operated until about 1900, after which the ground floor was converted into a cattle shed. By the 1930s the mill's two ponds had been filled in. The building was Grade II listed in 1966, and in 2010, it was converted for residential use. The two-storey building is constructed of millstone grit, with quoins, and roofs of stone slabs. The main block has five bays, with a two-bay extension to the northeast, an enclosed wheelhouse, and a later extension to the southeast. The openings include doorways, windows, one of which has three lights and mullions, cart entries and vents.
