Sutton-in-Craven

South Craven School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire, England. It is the largest school in the Craven District and carries over 1,700 pupils. The school has formed partnerships with The Ogden Trust, Airedale NHS Trust a prominent employer in the local area, Craven College a local further education college and long-term partner Bradford University who work closely on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the school, Leeds Trinity University, Leeds College of Music and finally the Bradford Local Authority. South Craven School became an academy on 1 May 2011.

Kildwick and Crosshills [sic] was a railway station off Station Road in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire (formerly West Riding of Yorkshire), England. It served the villages of Cross Hills, Cowling, Glusburn, Kildwick and Sutton-in-Craven.

Cross Hills is a village in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England that is situated halfway between Skipton and Keighley. The village is at the centre of a built-up area that includes the adjoining settlements of Glusburn, Kildwick, Eastburn and Sutton-in-Craven. Cross Hills is the newer part of the civil parish now called Glusburn and Cross Hills, historically known as Glusburn.

Glusburn is a village and electoral ward in Craven in North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the village is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, sits on the A6068 Kildwick to Hapton road, and is conjoined to the village of Sutton-in-Craven at the south. The village is the older part of the civil parish of Glusburn and Cross Hills, historically known as Glusburn. The newer part of the parish is known as Cross Hills. The parish had a population of 3,902, increasing to 3,980 at the 2011 Census.

The Church of St Andrew is an Anglican parish church in the village of Kildwick, North Yorkshire, England. A church has been in Kildwick since at least 950 AD, though the current structure dates back to the 16th century, but in its oldest parts are c. 12th century. The church was one of only two being recorded in Craven at the time of the Domesday survey, and was historically known as the Lang Kirk of Craven as it is unusually long for a parish church. It has a split graveyard, with a small portion to the north of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, and the larger graveyard to the south of the canal surrounding the church.

Kildwick, or Kildwick-in-Craven, is a village and civil parish of the district of Craven in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated between Skipton and Keighley and had a population of 191 in 2001, rising slightly to 194 at the 2011 census. Kildwick is a landmark as where the major road from Keighley to Skipton crosses the River Aire. The village's amenities include a primary school, church and public house.

Eastburn is a village within the Steeton with Eastburn civil parish, in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District, West Yorkshire, England. The road through Eastburn is approximately 1/2 mile long with a post office, fish and chip shop and a public house called The NightingGale; The village also contains a school (Eastburn Junior & Infant School), a small chapel, a farm, a factory (Cinetic Landis Ltd) and a former mill building which houses many business, including a fitness centre and furniture showroom.

Lund's Tower is a stone-built folly situated to the south-west of the North Yorkshire village of Sutton-in-Craven. It is also known as Cowling Pinnacle, Sutton Pinnacle, the Ethel Tower, the Jubilee Tower or, in conjunction with the nearby Wainman's Pinnacle, the pair are referred to as the Salt and Pepper Pots. It is listed in the National Heritage List for England at Grade II.

Farnhill is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated near Sutton-in-Craven and about 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east of Skipton. Farnhill is also across the canal from Kildwick and there is a church in Kildwick. There is a primary school next to the church and Farnhill backs up on to the moors. There are around 500 people living in Farnhill. To the south of the village is Farnhill Hall, a Grade I listed fortified manor house, dating from the 15th century but much altered.

Malsis School located at a mansion known as Malsis Hall in the village of Crosshills, in North Yorkshire, England, was a co-educational independent pre-prep and preparatory school for pupils aged 3 to 13 years. The school was founded in 1920, and closed due to falling pupil numbers in 2014. Facilities at the school included a 3 km mountain bike trail, 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, all weather pitch, rifle range, 40 acres of grounds and a Chapel with windows by the renowned stained-glass artist John Piper. The school closed on 10 December 2014, when the final assembly started at 11 am and concluded at 1 pm. The next day the school trust went into administration with Ernst & Young of Leeds. The school's assets were auctioned off and the land and building sold by Eddisons, and having fully paid off its debts it passed into creditors voluntary liquidation and the company was finally dissolved on 4 August 2017 according to Companies House. In January 2015, The Old Malsis Association (OMA) was formed to represent the views of school alumni from down the years.

Airedale General Hospital is an NHS district General Hospital based in Steeton with Eastburn, West Yorkshire, England and is operated by the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. Airedale was opened for patients in July 1970 and officially opened by the Prince of Wales on 11 December of the same year. The hospital covers a wide area including Keighley, Skipton and parts of the Yorkshire Dales and eastern Lancashire. As of 2021, the hospital had links for neurosurgical emergencies with Leeds General Infirmary. The hospital provides approximately 324 beds.

Cononley railway station serves the village of Cononley in North Yorkshire, England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Northern. It was originally opened in late 1847, at a cost of £900, by the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway. It was closed on 22 March 1965, though its platforms remained intact and the main buildings survived until the mid-1970s.It was reopened by British Rail on 20 April 1988 at a cost of £34,000, which was borne by the county, district and local parish councils and the Rural Development Commission. The station has two platforms and is right beside Cononley's main street. Step-free access is available to both platforms, via the level crossing at the Skipton end of the station. It is unstaffed but has now been fitted with ticket machines (one on the southbound platform and the other on the northbound side adjacent to the exit) to allow passengers to buy before travelling. An automated Tannoy system and digital information screens provide train running information to passengers.
