The Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is a National Health Service hospital in Liverpool. It is one of several specialist hospitals located within the Liverpool City Region, alongside Liverpool Women's Hospital, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, the Walton Centre, Mersey Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit, and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. It is managed by the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Broadgreen ward is an electoral district of Liverpool City Council. It was created in 1953. Its boundaries were changed for the 1973 and 1980 elections. The ward was dissolved prior to the 2004 Liverpool City Council election and distributed into the new Knotty Ash ward, and small parts of the Old Swan and Yew Tree wards.The 2022 review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England decided that the existing 30 wards each represented by three Councillors should be replaced by 64 wards represented by 85 councillors with varying representation by one, two or three councillors per ward. The Broadgreen ward was recreated as a smaller, single-member ward from a section of the previous Knotty Ash and Old Swan wards. The new ward is roughly bounded by Edge Lane Drive, Bowring Park Road, the North Liverpool Extension Line, Alder Road, Queens Drive, Cunningham Road, and Oakhill Road.

The hospital, alongside the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Liverpool University Dental Hospital in the city centre is managed by the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Knotty Ash & Stanley railway station was located on the North Liverpool Extension Line to the north of the East Prescot Road, Knotty Ash, Liverpool, England. The station opened in 1879 as "Old Swan & Knotty Ash". It was renamed "Knotty Ash & Stanley" in 1888, but it was always referred to locally simply as "Knotty Ash". The station nameboards read "Knotty Ash".It closed to passengers on 7 November 1960, to general goods in 1965 and completely in 1972. The line through the station was used by freight trains until 1975, the tracks were lifted in early 1979. By 2015 the trackbed though the station site formed part of the Trans Pennine Trail.

Broadgreen (officially Broad Green) is an eastern suburb of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. On the edge of the city, it is bordered by Old Swan to the north-west, Knotty Ash to the north-east, Childwall to the south and, further east, Bowring Park. Until 2004, it was a Liverpool City Council ward.

Springfield Park is a 22-acre (8.9 ha) park in Liverpool, England. It is located in the suburb of Knotty Ash, and lies to the north of Prescot Road. Much of the park is now occupied by the newly rebuilt Alder Hey Children's Hospital, which opened in October 2015. The park has a direct track that links to the Trans Pennine Trail. It also has a path that leads into Alder Veterinary Hospital's Car-park and then continues to Eaton Road.

Doric Park is located in Old Swan, Liverpool, England. Doric Park's main entrance is located in Wharncliffe Road. The popular local Green Flag park is tucked away behind rows of terraced houses. It is controlled by Liverpool City Council, and has 2.6 hectares of open space.Doric is one of many parks in Liverpool, that has been awarded with the 2010 Green Flag Award. Stanley and Calderstones Park have also been awarded with the 2010 Green Flag Award.

Olive Mount cutting, which was opened in 1830, is a 2-mile (3.2 km) sandstone railway cutting on the line to Manchester, 4 miles (6.4 km) from Liverpool. The cutting is 80 feet (24 m) deep and is situated between Wavertree Technology Park and Broad Green railway stations. The railway's engineer, George Stephenson, had hoped to avoid the problem of creating the cutting for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway by routing the line further north. However, that plan was objected to by the Earl of Derby and the Earl of Sefton.The cutting was originally designed to accommodate two tracks, and was only 20 feet (6.1 m) wide at the top. In 1871, it was widened to allow four tracks to enter Liverpool Lime Street, because traffic had increased considerably since the station opened.

St Oswald's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in St Oswald's Street, Old Swan, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is an active parish church in the Archdiocese of Liverpool and in St Joseph's Pastoral Area. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
