Fig is an unincorporated community in Ashe County, North Carolina, United States, southwest of Clifton. It lies at an elevation of 2,802 feet (854 m).

Worth's Chapel, also known as Creston United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist chapel located at 175 Three Top Road in Creston, Ashe County, North Carolina. The original main building was built in 1902, and is a square, frame building with Gothic and Romanesque design elements. It features a tall comer tower and tall arched windows. The smaller portion was added in the 1990s.The Land was donated by the Pernas family in the late 1990s in order to build the smaller portion that now stands there today. It is used as the parish hall for community events.It was built by the Worth family. As was popular of the time, the family owned a summer home on the hill just behind the church. Other members of the Worth family also built homes on the adjacent road. It became listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Three Top Mountain (variant names: Three Tops) is a mountain in the North Carolina High Country, located west of the town of West Jefferson. Its elevation reaches 5,020 feet (1,530 m) at its highest peak, unofficially named "Big Rock." Three Top also has ten other sub-peaks of varying height. The mountain generates feeder streams to the North Fork New River.

Miller Homestead is a historic home located near Lansing, Ashe County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1905, and is a one-story-plus-attic frame dwelling sheathed in German siding. Also on the property is a contributing garage (c. 1930, c. 1950) and mill house / woodshed (c. 1920, c. 1935). The property is associated with local folk musicians Charles Miller and his son Howard.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Perry–Shepherd Farm, also known as the Swansie Shepherd Farm, is a historic home and farm complex located near Lansing, Ashe County, North Carolina. The complex includes the main dwelling, a caretaker's cottage, a barn, a warehouse, a granary, and three sheds surrounded by woodland, open pasture, and blueberry and apple orchards. The main house was built about 1890, and is a two-story, single-pile I-house with an original rear wing. It has a double-porch and Queen Anne style decorative elements.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The mountain is the headwaters of the North Fork New River and feeder creeks to the South Fork New River (via Meat Camp Creek). The mountain is home to Elk Knob State Park. Elk Knob is partially formed by amphibolites of the Ashe Metamorphic Suite and Alligator Back Metamorphic suite.

Elk Knob State Park was established to preserve the natural state of Elk Knob, the third highest peak in Watauga County. Emergency Relief Administration, and consists of a 1 1/2-story, gable-roof center section with a one-story, gable-roofed entrance pavilion. The interior features exposed system of elegant scissor trusses that support the roof structure.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
