High House Meadows, Monewden

Monewden Meadows is a 3.7-hectare (9.1-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-west of Monewden in Suffolk. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, and it is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust under the name Martins' Meadows.The site consists of three unimproved fields described as a "species-rich lowland meadow" classified as type MG5. It is described as the best remaining area of clay or neutral lowland meadow remaining in Suffolk. Floral species include snake's-head fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris), early purple orchid (Orchis mascula), green-winged orchid (Anacamptis morio), pyramidal orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis), common twayblade (Listera ovata), meadow saffron (Colchicum autumnale), adder's-tongue fern (Ophioglossum vulgatum), pepper saxifrage (Silaum silaus) and rim lichen (Lecanora pulicaris). Notable fauna includes great-crested newt (Triturus cristatus) and barn owl (Tyto alba). There is access from the road between Monewden and Clopton.

Moat Farm Meadows is a 3.3-hectare (8.2-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-east of Otley in Suffolk.These calcareous meadows are traditionally cut for hay. They have diverse flora, with many green-winged orchids and one of the largest populations in the county of meadow saffron. Other species include ox-eye daisy and cuckoo flower.The site is private land with no public access.

Monewden ( MON-ə-dən) is a small village and a civil parish in the hundred of Loss (Also: Loes, Loose), in the East Suffolk District, in the English county of Suffolk. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census was 120. The village is located around 12 miles (19 km) north of Ipswich and 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Wickham Market. The village church is dedicated to St Mary. Two Sites of Special Scientific Interest are located in the parish, High House Meadows and Monewden Meadows, both areas of unimproved lowland grass meadow.

Cretingham is a village and a civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. It is on the River Deben, 2 miles south off the A1120 road. It is four miles west from Framlingham and eight miles northwest from Woodbridge.

Otley Hall is a 16th-century English manor house in the civil parish of Otley, in the East Suffolk district, Suffolk, England. It is a Grade I listed building. The manor was previously known as Netherhall Manor.

Framsden is a village and civil parish located around 10 miles (16 km) north of Ipswich and 3 miles (5 km) south of the small market town of Debenham in the English county of Suffolk. The total population of Framsden in the census of 2001 was 299, with 125 households, 52 people under 16 years, 201 of working age and 46 over 65 years, increasing to a population of 357 in 137 households at the 2011 Census.

Brandeston Hall is a grade II* listed house in Old Maids Lane, Brandeston, Suffolk, England.The Hall is the former manor house of Brandeston but is now used for educational purposes. The original house was built around 1550 for Andrew Revett, but only the east wing and entrance porch survive from a fire of 1847 that destroyed most of the house. It was rebuilt in 1848 for Charles Austin, a lawyer and the head of the Parliamentary Bar.Brandeston Hall was used as a military headquarters during World War II. 8th Army Group Royal Artillery was formed there on 1 May 1943 by conversion of the Headquarters, Royal Artillery, of 54th (East Anglian) Infantry Division.It was acquired by Framlingham College in 1949, as recorded in a Latin inscription over the doorway. The ceiling to the headmaster's study has painted portraits of 24 famous men.

Otley is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. It is around 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Ipswich. The parish, which covers an area of about 9 square kilometres (3.5 sq mi), had a population of 676 at the 2011 United Kingdom census. The B1079 road runs through the village, meeting the B1078 to the south of the parish at Otley Green.The village has a number of amenities, including a shop, public house, village hall, doctors surgery and two churches. The village primary school is small and educates around 50 pupils. In the south of the parish, Suffolk Rural College delivers a range of agricultural and other vocational courses. The college originally opened in 1970 as Otley College of Agriculture and Horticulture and became part of Ipswich-based Suffolk New College in 2020.Otley Hall, a 15th-century Grade I listed house which was historically the seat of the family of Bartholomew Gosnold, is to the north of the village. To the south of the village is a motte and bailey castle site and a Roman road crossed the parish towards its southern boundary. The parish church is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin and dates from the 15th century. It has what is believed to be one of the oldest total immersion baptismal font in any English Anglican church. The church is a Grade II* listed building.Otley Baptist Chapel is situated on Chapel Road and dates from 1800. The building was significantly enlarged in the 1830s, at which point it became a Strict Baptist chapel. On the morning of 30 March 1851 it had a congregation of 462, over four times that of the Anglican church, with another congregation, of 562, in the afternoon. The modern chapel seats 500.Otley is the birthplace of Roger Osborne who scored the only goal of the game in the 1978 FA Cup Final for Ipswich Town. It was also for many years, the home of Percy Edwards, famous for his impressions of birds and other animal noises.

Royal Air Force Debach or more simply RAF Debach is a former Royal Air Force station located at Debach, 3 miles (4.8 km) northwest of Woodbridge, Suffolk, England.

Charsfield is a small Suffolk village of 342 residents, 3 miles (4.8 km) from Wickham Market, 7 miles (11 km) from Woodbridge and 12 miles (19 km) from Ipswich and is located near the villages of Debach and Dallinghoo. A civil parish in East Anglia, Charsfield was famously used as one of the key locations in the 1974 film Akenfield, based loosely upon the book Akenfield: Portrait of an English Village by Ronald Blythe (1969). Charsfield hosted the first Greenbelt festival - an annual festival of arts, faith and justice - on a pig farm just outside the village over the August 1974 bank holiday weekend.
