Coleman Tech Charter High School (CTCHS) was a public charter high school in San Diego, California. It was under the jurisdiction of the San Diego Unified School District. As of 2017, the site of the school is utilized by The School for Entrepreneurship and Technology.

Birdland is a neighborhood in San Diego, California. It is located between California State Route 163, Interstate 805 and Mission Valley. Most of the streets in the area are named after different bird species, hence the name of the community. Birdland should not be confused with Bird Rock, a neighborhood of La Jolla, nor with the area of Mission Hills where the streets are also named for birds. Although identified as a separate community, Birdland is within the city of San Diego’s Serra Mesa Planning Area. Birdland is located in City Council District 7 and is currently represented by Councilmember Scott Sherman. Most of Birdland was developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In planning documents, the area is identified as "El Dorado." While much of the neighborhood consists of single-family homes, there are also three large apartment communities. Kearny High School is a public high school in San Diego, California. Kearny High School serves students in grades 9-12 from the Linda Vista, Serra Mesa and Kearny Mesa communities. The school is part of the San Diego Unified School District. Kearny's mascot is the Komet. The Kearny High Educational Complex is home to four small autonomous high schools: the School of Biomedical Science and Technology (BST), the School of College Connections (SCC), the School of Digital Media & Design (DMD), and the Stanley E. Foster School of Engineering, Design, and Innovation (EID). Each small school is focused on a college and career pathway and has developed its own educational philosophy. Western Sierra Law School (WSLS) is a private law school originally located in San Diego and recently relocated to North San Diego County in Oceanside, California. Western Sierra Law School was founded in 1979 and offers an affordable and accessible option to those looking to study the law, earn a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and qualify to sit for the California Bar Exam. Western Sierra Law School offers a part-time, evening, 4 year J.D. program that is designed to accommodate working professionals. Students attend classes 2-3 nights per week, 3–4 hours per night, typically beginning at 6:30pm. The first year consists of a comprehensive study of Contracts, Torts, and Criminal Law, after which the student is qualified to sit for the First-Year Law Students' Exam (FYLSE) also known as the Baby Bar administered by the State Bar of California. Students must pass the FYLSE within three administrations, or otherwise be exempt, to receive credit for all law study completed to date. While concurrently working to pass the FYLSE, and after passing, students continue their study in years 2, 3, and 4 of all subjects tested on the CA Bar Exam and electives/clinical education to explore areas of interest. Western Sierra Law School has small class sizes averaging 10 students to 1 faculty member.[2]

KSDS (88.3 FM, "Jazz 88.3") is a full-time mainstream/traditional Jazz radio station, licensed to the San Diego Community College District, broadcasting 24 hours a day from the campus of San Diego City College. The station is owned by City College, although their transmitter and antenna are located near their partner college, Mesa College, located north of City College, in Kearny Mesa. KSDS, founded in 1951, began programming jazz in 1973 and in 1985 became San Diego's only full-time jazz and blues station. KSDS is licensed by the FCC as a non-commercial, non-profit educational radio station and, for many years, operated with 3,000 watts at 88.3 MHz FM. In 2007, KSDS was granted a Construction Permit by the Federal Communications Commission allowing the station to increase its power to 22,000 watts, greatly improving the signal coverage area. They also feature a live stream and a playlist archive at their website. They play music from artists like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Jelly Roll Morton to Rob McConnell, Bobby Watson, Herbie Hancock, and Wynton Marsalis. KSDS/Jazz88 features specialty programs that concentrate on various subgenres of the music, such as Dixieland, Latin jazz, swing, big band, free jazz, world music, vocalists, all-female artists, and exclusively guitar music. KSDS has two HD Radio channels. KSDS-HD1 simulcasts the analog stereo channel. KSDS-HD2 carries "Student Designed Sound", with both spoken word and music programs produced by students in City College's broadcasting program.

San Diego Mesa College (Mesa College or Mesa) is a public community college in Clairemont Mesa in San Diego, California. It is part of the California Community Colleges and the San Diego Community College District. It is the largest community college in the city of San Diego and the 16th largest community college in the state. Community college education in San Diego began in 1914 when the Board of Education of the San Diego City Schools authorized post secondary classes for San Diego high school students. Classes opened with four faculty members serving 35 students. San Diego Mesa College first opened in 1964. Initially offering education to 1,800 students, it has grown to become one of the largest community colleges in California. Classes started at the 900 Building at nearby Stephen Watts Kearny High School in the Fall 1963 Semester while the college was being completed; classes at the college started in January 1964. In 2016, Mesa College became one of the first 10 California community colleges to offer four-year, bachelor degrees.

Civita is a master-planned community in the Mission Valley area of the city of San Diego, San Diego County, United States. Located on a former quarry site, the urban-style, sustainable, transit-oriented 230-acre (93 ha) village is organized around a 14.3-acre (5.8 ha) community park that cascades down the terraced property.Civita development plans call for 60 to 70 acres of parks and open space, 4,780 residences (including approximately 478 affordable units), an approximately 480,000-square-foot retail center, and 420,000 square feet for an office/business campus.The Civita project is budgeted at $2 billion and being developed by Sudberry Properties, in partnership with the Grant family, which has operated the former quarry since 1937.

The Art Institute of California – San Diego was a for-profit art school in San Diego, California. It was briefly operated as a non-profit institution before it closed in 2019. The school was one of a number of Art Institutes, a franchise of for-profit art colleges with many branches in North America, owned and operated by Education Management Corporation. EDMC owned the college from 2000 until 2017, when, facing significant financial problems and declining enrollment, the company sold the Art Institute of California – San Diego, along with 30 other Art Institute schools, to Dream Center Education, a Los Angeles-based Pentecostal organization. Dream Center permanently closed the San Diego campus location on March 8, 2019.

Linda Vista (Spanish for "Pretty View") is a community in San Diego, California, United States. Located east of Mission Bay, north of Mission Valley, and south-east of Tecolote Canyon, it lies on a mesa overlooking Mission Valley to the south and Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It is also home to the University of San Diego. Linda Vista is divided between two City Council districts, with Councilmember Raul Campillo representing the majority of the neighborhood that lies in District 7 and Councilmember Jennifer Campbell representing the portion immediately surrounding the University of San Diego that lies in District 2.
