Delaware Center for Horticulture

Logan House is a historic hotel located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1865, and is a three-story, five bay by five bay, flat roofed brick building with Italianate elements. It has three one-story wings; one original brick wing, a wing added about 1910, and a concrete block wing added about 1960. Also on the property is a contributing brick carriage house. The hotel was named for American Civil War General John A. Logan. It has been owned by the Kelly family since 1889 and has been a traditional gathering place on St. Patrick's Day. In the 1930s, the hotel closed and only a restaurant and tavern remained in operation.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Water Witch Steam Fire Engine Company No. 5 is a historic fire station at 1814 Gilpin Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware. The 2+1⁄2-story brick building was designed by Edward L. Rice, Jr., a leading Wilmington architect, and built in 1893. The building is an architecturally eclectic mix of Queen Anne and Second Empire styling, and has retained many of its original interior details.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The Frank E. Schoonover Studios in Wilmington, Delaware comprise a historic building that was used by the students of illustrator Howard Pyle, including the original tenants Frank Schoonover, N.C. Wyeth, Harvey Dunn, and Clifford Ashley. Philanthropist and art collector Samuel Bancroft paid for the building which was designed by the prominent local architect Capt. E.L. Rice, Jr. and built in 1905 in a simplified Queen Anne or Shavian Manorial style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.Schoonover remained in his studio, Number 1, until the end of his career, but the other original tenants moved out within ten years. Other artists moved in but Schoonover eventually became the sole owner of the property. After his death in 1972, a group of artists restored the building.In 2006 the Delaware History Museum held a special exhibition about the Studios.

The Delaware Academy of Medicine, also known as the Academy/DPHA is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1930. Its mission is to enhance the well-being of the community through education and the promotion of public health. It is now located at 4765 Ogletown-Stanton Road (Route 4) in Newark, Delaware. Under the leadership of executive director, Timothy E. Gibbs, MPH, NPM-c, the Delaware Academy of Medicine became Delaware's affiliate to the American Public Health Association in November 2013 - thus becoming the Delaware Public Health Association. Its new name is the Delaware Academy of Medicine / Delaware Public Health Association, or Academy/DPHA for short. The Academy offers a range of services spanning the spectrum from consumer health education, to student financial aid for medical and dental students, and continuing medical education conferences. The Academy/DPHA serves the general public by holding lectures and seminars to educate the public on important health topics through the Delaware Mini Medical School (a jointly operated program of the Academy/DPHA and Christiana Care Health System) and the Medical Lecture Series at the Osher Academy for Life Long Institute. The Academy/DPHA also has a 11,000+ item archives and history collection of medicine, dentistry, and public health in Delaware. The Academy/DPHA operates and has a hand in many public health programs throughout the state of Delaware. Many other advocacy efforts are conducted in partnership with other public health institutions and nonprofits on a local, regional, and national basis. The academy's first building, located at 1925 Lovering Avenue in Wilmington, is an historic bank building (originally built in 1815 as the second building of the Bank of Delaware), which was moved to its present location by preservationists in 1931-2 to prevent its demolition, and with the intent of providing a home for the academy. It served the academy until 2006, when it moved to the campus of Christiania Care Health System in Newark, DE.

Delaware Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 180 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure developed in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. The district is primarily residential and includes a variety of Victorian-era mansions and large dwellings in a variety of popular architectural styles including Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, and American Four Square The houses are detached or semi-detached and are primarily three stories in height with extensive wings to the rear. The district also includes 20th century apartment complexes. Also located in the district is the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and the Sailors and Soldiers Monument. The separately listed Howard Pyle Studios are also located in the district.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, with a boundary increase in 1987.

Continental Army Encampment Site is a historic site located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. The Continental Army troops camped on the east side of Brandywine Creek, which is now a part of Brandywine Park. An early mill race is still visible, on the site, a reminder of the extensive early milling industry on the Brandywine. The Continental Army camped at the site for a few days before the Battle of Brandywine in August 1777. On December 21, 1777, 1,500 Delaware and Maryland troops under the command of General William Smallwood returned to the campsite. These troops were stationed to prevent occupation of Wilmington by the British and to protect the flour mills on the Brandywine.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Howard Pyle Studios are two historic buildings used for painting and teaching by illustrator Howard Pyle. The studios are located in a densely populated neighborhood near Brandywine Park and the Delaware Avenue Historic District. The building used by Pyle as his own studio was built in 1883, mainly in brick with a Tudor Revival half timbered gable. The smaller studio, that Pyle used for teaching, was built in a similar style in 1900. After Pyle's death in 1911, the buildings were owned by Stanley Arthurs, until 1950, and then by Ellen duPont Wheelwright until 1964. The Studio Group acquired the studios in 1964 and continue to use them as art studios. In 1978, the property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Augustine Paper Mill, also known as the Container Corporation of America, Paper Mill Division (Old Wilmington Plant), was a historic paper mill complex located in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. The complex consisted of seven 19th century stone buildings including the original three-story mill building, also known as Building 7, and various later two-level mill structures and support buildings. As of 2022, Building 7 is the only surviving part of the complex. It is a three-story mill erected from randomly laid stone with walls three feet thick, a slate covered gable roof, and an arched brick opening for the mill race. The complex was acquired by the Container Corporation of America in 1942 (1942). In 1978, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The property was redeveloped into a gated condominium complex in 1985 (1985). The oldest mill structure, Building 7, was converted for residential use, while the other six buildings were replaced by new construction.

A statue of Christopher Columbus was installed in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. It was produced by the sculptor Egidio Giaroli in Rome, and was cast and molded in the Italian city of Pistoia. The statue was unveiled on October 12, 1957, and was removed in June 2020, its status and future currently is unclear, and its impromptu removal controversial and the subject of political debate.

Postles House, also known as "The Gargoyle House", is a historic home located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1905, and is a three-story, "T"-shaped stone dwelling with eclectic Tudor Gothic style elements. It features two-story polygonal bays topped with battlements, steep parapeted gables, decorative wrought iron work, and a slate roof. Also on the property are a contributing carriage house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Ursuline Academy is a private school in Wilmington, Delaware, which offers Early Childhood (Montessori (ages 3–5) and Kindergarten) and elementary (grades 1–5) school for both girls and boys, Middle (Grades 6–8), and Upper (Grades 9–12) school classes for girls. Established in 1893 by the Ursulines, it is an independent, Catholic, college-preparatory school.

The Delaware Art Museum is an art museum located on the Kentmere Parkway in Wilmington, Delaware, which holds a collection of more than 12,000 objects. The museum was founded in 1912 as the Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts in honor of the artist Howard Pyle. The collection focuses on American art and illustration from the 19th to the 21st century, and on the English Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood movement of the mid-19th century. The museum building was expanded and renovated in 2005 and includes a 9-acre (36,000 m2) Sculpture Park, the Helen Farr Sloan Library and Archives, studio art classes, a children's learning area, as well as a cafe and museum store.
