Quebec City Armoury

The Monument to the Suffragettes is a public artwork located in Quebec City, Canada. The memorial is a sculpture of four key women in Quebec's political history: three suffragettes, Marie Lacoste Gérin-LaJoie, Idola Saint-Jean and Thérèse Forget-Casgrain; and Marie-Claire Kirkland, the first woman elected to the National Assembly. The statues were scuipted by Jules Lasalle and unveiled on 5 December 2012 by the Premier of Quebec, Pauline Marois.

Quebec Skating Rink was the name of several ice rinks in Quebec City, Quebec. The first was built in 1851, and was the world's first covered skating rink, and was located near the St. Lawrence River. The second rink, built in 1864, was situated on the Grande-Allée, as were the third and fourth rinks. The rinks were developed initially for ice skating, but the developing sport of ice hockey led to the inauguration of the Quebec Hockey Club in the 1880s, which used the rink as their home rink. The hockey club moved to the new, larger Quebec Arena in 1913.

The Parliament Building of Quebec (French: Hôtel du Parlement du Québec) is an eight-floor structure and is home to the National Assembly of Quebec (French: Assemblée Nationale du Québec), located in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Parliament Building was designed by architect Eugène-Étienne Taché in a Second Empire style and built between 1877 and 1886, in the heart of Quebec's Parliament Hill. The National Assembly (or, as it was called until 1968, the Legislative Assembly) first met there on March 27, 1884, even as the building was fully completed only two years later, on April 8, 1886. In 1910s-1930s, the government has built several adjacent buildings to expand its office spaces, creating a parliamentary complex, of which the Parliament Building is the main edifice. The government office, is a successor of several earlier buildings, the earliest of which was built in 1620 and among which there were two other parliament houses that served as legislatures from 1791. Geographically, the building is located in the Place de l'Assemblée-Nationale, in the district of Vieux-Québec–Cap-Blanc–colline Parlementaire, part of the borough of La Cité-Limoilou, just outside the walls of Old Quebec. However, the Parliament Building, along with several adjacent buildings and terrain, have been declared a "national historic site" (French: site historique national), and as such taken away from the control of the provincial Ministry of Culture and Communications and municipalities. This designation notwithstanding, the province of Quebec is signatory to a long-term leasing deal (called emphyteusis) when it comes to the territory in front of the National Assembly, that is, from the front entrance to the fortifications of the old town, as this parcel has belonged to the federal government since 1881.

The Quebec Legislature (officially Parliament of Quebec, French: Parlement du Québec) is the legislature of the province of Quebec, Canada. The legislature is made of two elements: the King of Canada, represented by the lieutenant governor of Quebec, and the unicameral assembly called the National Assembly of Quebec. The legislature has existed since Canadian Confederation in 1867 when Quebec, then called Canada East, became one of the founding provinces. From 1867 to 1968 the legislature was bicameral, containing a lower chamber called the Legislative Assembly of Quebec and an upper chamber called the Legislative Council of Quebec. Like the Canadian federal government, Quebec uses a Westminster-style parliamentary government, in which members are elected to the National Assembly after general elections and from there the party with the most seats chooses a premier of Quebec and Executive Council of Quebec. The premier is Quebec's head of government, while the King is its head of state. When the party with the most seats has fewer than half of the total number of seats, it forms a minority government, which can be voted out of power by the other parties. Members meet in the Quebec Parliament Building in the provincial capital city of Quebec City.

Édifice André-Laurendeau is an eleven-storey office tower located at 1050, rue des Parlementaires in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Beaux-Arts structure was built between 1935 and 1937 by Lacroix, Drouin and Bergeron and is the property of the Government of Quebec. In 1980 it was named in honour of journalist and politician André Laurendeau.

CFEL-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Quebec City, Quebec, but the station's official city of license is Lévis. Owned and operated by Leclerc Communication Inc., it is a Class C1 FM station which broadcasts on 102.1 MHz using a directional antenna. The station has an alternative rock format branded as blvd 102.1.

CKIA-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Quebec City, Quebec. The station operates under a community radio licence and is owned by a non-profit group known as Radio Basse-Ville. It broadcasts on 88.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 350 watts (class A) using an omnidirectional antenna, broadcasting from Edifice Marie-Guyart in downtown Quebec City. CKIA-FM opened on October 31, 1984 and was originally on 96.1 MHz with a power of only 6.8 watts. The station had to move to a new frequency to increase its power; the move and the power increase took place in September 2001, and the station then began stereophonic transmissions. The 96.1 MHz frequency is now used by CBM-FM-2, a CBC Radio 2 station which is actually a rebroadcaster of Montreal station CBM-FM. In 2016, the station premiered TransRéalité, the first radio program in Quebec devoted to transgender issues.The station is a member of the Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec.

Édifice Jean-Antoine-Panet is an 8 floor office tower built in 1931, located in Quebec City, Quebec and is part of the complex of buildings of the Government of Quebec. The Beaux-Arts building was designed by architects Lorenzo Auger, Oscar Beaulé and Raoul Chênevert. It was named in honour of the first speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada, Jean-Antoine Panet. It originally housed the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture and since 1985 used as office space by the Quebec National Assembly.

Hôtel Le Concorde Québec is a skyscraper hotel in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It contains 405 rooms over 26 floors. Le Concorde is known for its revolving restaurant, Ciel! (formerly L'Astral), which is situated on the top floor of the hotel and offers a 360-degree view of Quebec City and the Saint Lawrence River. The hotel is located in the historic restaurant district La Grande Allée and behind is the historic national park The Plains of Abraham (French: Les plaines d'Abraham) and The Battlefields Park (French: Parc des Champs-de-Bataille).

Parliament Hill (French: Colline parlementaire) is located in Quebec City in the borough of La Cité-Limoilou, specifically in districts of Vieux-Québec—Cap-Blanc—colline Parlementaire and Saint-Jean-Baptiste. In addition to the Parliament Building of Quebec, the Hill has a few shopping streets and residential areas and public green spaces. The hill on which it is located is the promontory of Quebec. In 1985, the complex of parliamentary building was declared a Site historique national ("National Historic Site of Canada").

The Édifice Marie-Guyart, previously and still commonly known as Complexe G, is a 31-storey, 132 m (433 ft) office skyscraper completed in 1972 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The brutalist style tower is the tallest building in the city, as well as the tallest building in Canada east of Montreal. Situated in the Parliament Hill borough, the building houses most notably the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sports, the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks, as well the Observatoire de la Capitale observation deck.

The ramparts of Quebec City is a city wall that surrounds the western end of Old Quebec's Upper Town in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The ramparts date back to the 17th century, with the ramparts having undergone a succession of modifications and improvements throughout its history. The city walls extends 4.6 kilometres (2.9 mi), with the southern portions of the ramparts forming a part of the Citadelle of Quebec. The ramparts were first built in 1690 in order to defend the Upper Town of Quebec City. In 1745, the walls were rebuilt further west, modelled after designs created by Gaspard-Joseph Chaussegros de Léry. The ramparts withstood several sieges during the mid-18th century, with British forces holding out in the walled city during the French siege of Quebec in 1760, and the American siege of Quebec in 1775. From the 1820s to 1830s, the British expanded and improved the ramparts and the rest of the city's defensive network. However, by the late-19th century, several deteriorating facilities associated with Quebec City's fortifications were demolished, although the primary defences remained. In 1948, the ramparts were designated as a part of the larger Fortifications of Québec National Historic Site. The fortifications, alongside the rest of Old Quebec, were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985; with the area serving as the only intact example of a fortified colonial settlement in North America north of Mexico.
