Peacock Beach State Park is a locally managed, public recreation area on Pleasant Pond in Richmond, Maine. The park is on U.S. Route 201 between the Maine Turnpike (I-95) and I-295, about 12 miles (20 km) south of Augusta. The Town of Richmond took over operation of the park in 2010. The park offers facilities for picnicking and swimming.

The Peacock Tavern is a historic tavern building at 1037 United States Route 201 in Richmond, Maine. Built in 1807, it is one of the rural community's oldest surviving buildings, and has long been a landmark on what was once the main road between Augusta and Portland. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It was owned by the state, forming part of Peacock Beach State Park, but was privately owned by Dennis and Susan Cloukey from 1987 to 1990 and has been privately owned by Christine and Christopher Faris since 1993.

Gardiner High School, also known as Gardiner Area High School (GAHS), is a public school serving grades 9–12 in Gardiner, Maine in the United States. Tigers are the school mascot. In 2016, the school had a graduating class of 136.The Old Gardiner High School building was designed by Francis H. Fassett and built in 1870. The Maine Ornithological Society met at the high school in 1907. The school has a rivalry with Cony High School. Alumni of the school include Stanford University professor David Nivison who was valedictorian at the high school in 1940 and Poet Edward Arlington Robinson who graduated from the school when ceremonies were held at the Gardiner Coliseum.

The Edwin Arlington Robinson House is an historic house at 67 Lincoln Avenue in Gardiner, Maine. A two-story wood-frame house, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 for its association with Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869–1935) one the United States' leading poets of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

It airs a rhythmic contemporary format, branded as Hot Radio Maine, simulcast with WHTP-FM (104.7) in Kennebunkport and WHZP (1400 AM) in Veazie. WHTP is powered in the daytime at 5,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. At night, to avoid interfering with other stations on AM 1280, it reduces power to 400 watts. The transmitter is located off Northern Avenue in Farmingdale, near the Maine Turnpike. WHTP is also simulcast on an FM translator station, 100.3 W262DP in Gardiner.

Oaklands, also known locally as Oaklands Castle, is a historic house on Oaklands Farm in southern Gardiner, Maine. The main house of this farm property is a stone Gothic Revival work from the early career of the noted 19th-century architect Richard Upjohn. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic church located at 1 Dresden Avenue in Gardiner, Maine. Built in 1820 for the oldest congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. It is the oldest known example of ecclesiastical Gothic Revival architecture in New England, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Laura E. Richards House was a historic house located in Gardiner, Maine. Built c.1810, it was a fine local example of Federal period architecture. It was primarily known as the home of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Laura E. Richards during the majority of her writing career. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The house was damaged and demolished as a result of a fire in December 2022.

Once a leading port and industrial center on the Kennebec River, Gardiner's Water Street downtown area retains the feel of its late 19th-century commercial success. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Gardiner Railroad Station is a historic former railroad station at 51 Maine Street in Gardiner, Maine. It was built in 1911 by the Maine Central Railroad, and was in use as a station until the 1950s. It has since seen a variety of adaptive commercial uses. A distinctive example of Romanesque architecture, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1982.
