Gardiner is a city in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,961 at the 2020 census. Popular with tourists, Gardiner is noted for its culture and old architecture. Gardiner is a nationally accredited Main Street America community. It is included in the Augusta, Maine micropolitan New England City and Town Area.

The Gardiner Historic District encompasses the historic 19th-century commercial heart of the city of Gardiner, Maine. Once a leading port and industrial center on the Kennebec River, Gardiner's Water Street downtown area retains the feel of its late 19th-century commercial success. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic church located at 1 Dresden Avenue in Gardiner, Maine. Built in 1820 for the oldest congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. It is the oldest known example of ecclesiastical Gothic Revival architecture in New England, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Gardiner Railroad Station is a historic former railroad station at 51 Maine Street in Gardiner, Maine. It was built in 1911 by the Maine Central Railroad, and was in use as a station until the 1950s. It has since seen a variety of adaptive commercial uses. A distinctive example of Romanesque architecture, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1982.

The Edwin Arlington Robinson House is an historic house at 67 Lincoln Avenue in Gardiner, Maine. A two-story wood-frame house, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 for its association with Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869–1935) one the United States' leading poets of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge (formerly the Gardiner-Randolph Bridge), is a steel girder and concrete bridge that crosses the Kennebec River between Gardiner and Randolph, Maine. It carries Maine State Routes 9, 126, and 27. It was built in 1980 to replace an older truss bridge several hundred yards downstream. The bridge was given its current name in 2001 to honor the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Gardiner Public Library is the public library of Gardiner, Maine, and the surrounding communities of Farmingdale, Litchfield, Pittston, Randolph, and West Gardiner. The present library was built in 1881 and designed by architect Henry Richards. In 1930 the R.P. Hazzard wing was added to become the Children's Room, but was later converted to a Reading Room. In 1960 the J. Walter Robinson Reference Wing was added, and in 1977 the Burress Moore, III Children's Room was created using the second floor of the library, which had originally been designed as a public hall known as Library Hall. The Children's Room renovations were finished in 2008. The Community Archives Room was established in 1985 in the basement level of the library. It was renovated in 2016 and serves as the community's local history and genealogy center.

Maine School Administrative District 11 (MSAD 11) serves the communities of Gardiner, Pittston, Randolph and West Gardiner.

The Capt. Nathaniel Stone House, also known as the Ring House, is a historic house at 268 Maine Street (Maine State Route 27) in Farmingdale, Maine. Built in 1872, it is the small community's only significant example of Second Empire architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Peter Grant House is a historic house at 10 Grant Street in Farmingdale, Maine. Built in 1830, it is one Maine's oldest surviving examples of Greek Revival architecture, with a temple front overlooking the Kennebec River. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 17, 1976.

Oaklands, also known locally as Oaklands Castle, is a historic house on Oaklands Farm in southern Gardiner, Maine. The main house of this farm property is a stone Gothic Revival work from the early career of the noted 19th-century architect Richard Upjohn. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Gardiner High School, also known as Gardiner Area High School (GAHS), is a public school serving grades 9–12 in Gardiner, Maine in the United States. Tigers are the school mascot. In 2016, the school had a graduating class of 136.The Old Gardiner High School building was designed by Francis H. Fassett and built in 1870. The Maine Ornithological Society met at the high school in 1907. The school has a rivalry with Cony High School. Alumni of the school include Stanford University professor David Nivison who was valedictorian at the high school in 1940 and Poet Edward Arlington Robinson who graduated from the school when ceremonies were held at the Gardiner Coliseum.
