Peacock Beach State Park

The Peacock Tavern is a historic tavern building at 1037 United States Route 201 in Richmond, Maine. Built in 1807, it is one of the rural community's oldest surviving buildings, and has long been a landmark on what was once the main road between Augusta and Portland. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It was owned by the state, forming part of Peacock Beach State Park, but was privately owned by Dennis and Susan Cloukey from 1987 to 1990 and has been privately owned by Christine and Christopher Faris since 1993.

Built in 1882, it is one of the small community's prominent commercial buildings, with distinctive Second Empire styling. It was built by T.J. Southard, the town's leading shipbuilder of the period. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Richmond is located adjacent to the 2,019 acre state-owned and managed Steve Powell Wildlife Management Area on Swan Island, a wildlife sanctuary and tourist area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Swan Island is a major wildlife tourist attraction for the town, especially during the summer.Richmond is also known for its collection of Greek Revival homes, unique for the area.

Gardiner High School, also known as Gardiner Area High School (GAHS), is a public school serving grades 9–12 in Gardiner, Maine in the United States. Tigers are the school mascot. In 2016, the school had a graduating class of 136.The Old Gardiner High School building was designed by Francis H. Fassett and built in 1870. The Maine Ornithological Society met at the high school in 1907. The school has a rivalry with Cony High School. Alumni of the school include Stanford University professor David Nivison who was valedictorian at the high school in 1940 and Poet Edward Arlington Robinson who graduated from the school when ceremonies were held at the Gardiner Coliseum.

The Maine Kennebec Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Kennebec River between Richmond and Dresden, Maine. It was built in 2014 to replace the 84-year-old Richmond-Dresden Bridge, a swing bridge that had previously acted as the only method of crossing the river in that area. The Maine Kennebec Bridge is significantly taller than the old bridge, and was designed for at least 75 feet (23 meters) of clearance during high tide, allowing boats to pass without the need for a swing-span design.

WHTP (1280 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Gardiner, Maine, United States. It serves the Lewiston-Auburn and Augusta metropolitan areas. The station is owned by MaineInvests LLC. It airs a rhythmic contemporary format, branded as Hot Radio Maine, simulcast with WHTP-FM (104.7) in Kennebunkport and WHZP (1400 AM) in Veazie. WHTP is powered in the daytime at 5,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. At night, to avoid interfering with other stations on AM 1280, it reduces power to 400 watts. The transmitter is located off Northern Avenue in Farmingdale, near the Maine Turnpike. WHTP is also simulcast on an FM translator station, 100.3 W262DP in Gardiner.
