The Diocese of Ventimiglia-Sanremo (Latin: Dioecesis Ventimiliensis-Sancti Romuli) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in Liguria, northern Italy. The name of the historic Diocese of Ventimiglia (dioecesis Albintimiliensis, and Intimiliensis) was changed in 1975. It was originally a suffragan diocese of the Metropolitanate of Milan up to 1806, when it was transferred to the Metropolitanate of Aix; but it has been a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Genoa since 1818.

Ventimiglia railway station (Italian: Stazione di Ventimiglia) is the main station in the Italian town of Ventimiglia. It is at the end of three rail routes: the Genoa–Ventimiglia line, the Cuneo–Ventimiglia line and the Marseille–Ventimiglia line. It plays an important role not only in rail transport in Liguria but also in Italy. Despite being an important station, it is partially in disrepair.The station is managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Italian train services to and from the station are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. French train services to and from Ventimiglia are operated by the SNCF.

Ventimiglia (Italian: [ventiˈmiʎʎa]; Intemelio: Ventemiglia [veŋteˈmiʎa], Genoese: Vintimiggia; French: Vintimille [vɛ̃timij]; Provençal: Ventemilha [venteˈmiʎɔ]) is a resort town in the province of Imperia, Liguria, northern Italy. It is located 130 km (81 mi) west of Genoa, and 7 km (4.3 mi) from the French-Italian border, on the Gulf of Genoa, having a small harbour at the mouth of the Roia river, which divides the town into two parts. Ventimiglia's urban area has a population of 55,000.

The Roya (French, [ʁwaja]), Roia (Italian), or Ròia (Brigasc, Occitan) is a river of France and Italy, discharging into the Ligurian Sea. It is 59 km (37 mi) long, of which 40.1 km (24.9 mi) in France. Its drainage basin is about 660 km2 (250 sq mi), of which 601 km2 (232 sq mi) in France.

Dolceacqua (Ligurian: Dôsaiga, locally Dussaiga) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Imperia in the Italian region Liguria, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) west of Imperia, on the border with France. As of 31 December 2014, it had a population of 2,078 and an area of 20.2 square kilometres (7.8 sq mi) Dolceacqua borders the following municipalities of Airole, Apricale, Breil-sur-Roya (France), Camporosso, Isolabona, Perinaldo, Rocchetta Nervina, San Biagio della Cima, and Ventimiglia. Dolceacqua is the location of the Pinacoteca Giovanni Morscio, a museum dedicated to the works of local painter Morscio (1887–1972) and other 20th-century Italian and French artists. It is also known for its medieval bridge, which was painted by Claude Monet.

Mortola Inferiore, often known as La Mortola, is a frazione of the comune of Ventimiglia, in the province of Imperia, in Liguria, Italy. It lies on the road from Ventimiglia to the French border. It is home to the Giardini Botanici Hanbury, or Hanbury botanical gardens, created in the 19th century by Sir Thomas Hanbury.

The Giardini Botanici Hanbury, also known as Villa Hanbury, are major botanical gardens operated by the University of Genoa. They are located at Corso Montecarlo 43, Mortola Inferiore, several km west of Ventimiglia, Italy.

Camporosso (Ligurian: Campurussu) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Imperia in the Italian region Liguria, located about 160 kilometres (99 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 45 kilometres (28 mi) west of Imperia. Camporosso borders the following municipalities: Dolceacqua, San Biagio della Cima, Vallecrosia, and Ventimiglia.

The Barbaira is a 15.83-kilometre (9.84 mi) stream of Liguria (Italy); it is the main tributary of the Nervia.

Airole (Ligurian: Airöe, locally Airöre) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Imperia in the Italian region of Liguria, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) west of Imperia, on the border with France. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 461 and an area of 14.8 square kilometres (5.7 sq mi).The municipality of Airole contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Collabassa, case Noceire, and case Giauma. Airole borders the following municipalities: Breil-sur-Roya (France), Dolceacqua, Olivetta San Michele, and Ventimiglia.

Grimaldi is a frazione of 281 inhabitants in the municipality of Ventimiglia, in the province of Imperia. It is located near the French border of Ponte San Luigi. The oldest inhabited centre, located at 220 m, takes the name of Grimaldi Superiore, to distinguish it from the houses built along the State Road 1 (SS1) Aurelia, which makes up Grimaldi Inferiore.

The Nervia is a 28.3-kilometre (17.6 mi) stream of Liguria (Italy).
