Breadstone is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Hamfallow, in the Stroud district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 95.

Piers Court is a country house in Stinchcombe on the Cotswold Edge in Gloucestershire, England. A Grade II* listed building, in the mid-20th century the court was home to the novelist Evelyn Waugh.

Newport is a village in Alkington parish, Gloucestershire, England. Located along the A38 road roughly halfway between Bristol and Gloucester. It is located about a mile south-east of Berkeley and just north of Woodford. It is on the Doverte Brook, a tributary of the Little Avon River. Its pub ('The Stagecoach'), formerly the White Hart, closed in 2021 and is now a Day Nursery. A closed down motel ('The Newport Towers') is being redeveloped as a housing estate, and there is a small non-conformist chapel. The chapel is closed on October 2006 and has been converted into a house. It had a Georgian Interior with hat pegs and galleries and several broken harmoniums. Prior to the advent of the motor car, the journey between Bristol and Gloucestershire took a whole day. It was a perfect staging point for stagecoaches at that time. There were many inns, some catering for the post. The coaches would have a change of horses, the coachmen and passengers having a mid-journey rest stop.

Hamfallow is a civil parish in the district of Stroud, Gloucestershire. There is no village centre, the parish consists of farms and hamlets such as Abwell, Breadstone, Halmore, Mobley and Wanswell. The westernmost portion of the parish boundary follows the River Severn, across which is the parish of Lydney in the Forest of Dean district. The other adjoining parishes are all in the Stroud district, these are: Hinton to the north-west; Slimbridge to the north-east; Cam to the east; Stinchcombe to the south-east; Alkington to the south; whilst both Ham and Stone and Berkeley lie to the south-west. Hamfallow was in Thornbury Rural District until the RDC was abolished in 1974. The greater part was transferred into the new county of Avon, as part of the new district of Northavon but a group of parishes in the north of the district, around Berkeley, wished not to transfer into the new county, but chose instead to remain with Gloucestershire, under the new Stroud District Council. These were the parishes of Hinton, Hamfallow, Ham and Stone, Alkington, and Berkeley itself. With the demise of Avon, in 1996, Hamfallow remained with the main county of Gloucestershire. Today, Hamfallow is represented by the county councillor for Berkeley Vale division and the two district councillors for Berkeley ward on Stroud District Council.

Stinchcombe is a small village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England on the B4060 road between Dursley and North Nibley. The church is called St Cyr's and its churchyard contains 40–60 gravestones. The population taken at the 2011 census was 480.It gives its name to the nearby Stinchcombe Hill (grid reference ST7360698151) which is a 28.6-hectare (71-acre), a nearly detached part of the Cotswold Edge, which was notified as a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1966.

Lower Wick is a small hamlet located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. It is situated about five miles south west of Dursley, eighteen miles southwest of Gloucester and fifteen miles northeast of Bristol. Lower Wick is within the civil parish of Alkington.The hamlet contains approximately 17 homes (including the old school house, now converted into a dwelling) and a restaurant. Most of the older properties were built by the Berkeley family who once owned much of the land. One of the farms in the hamlet still has a working wind pump in use today which is over one hundred years old.

There is no Alkington village, the parish consists of various hamlets, including Woodford, Newport and Lower Wick. The parish adjoins the Stroud parishes of Ham and Stone to the west; Hamfallow to the north; Stinchcombe to the north-east; North Nibley to the east. The Battle of Nibley Green was fought near North Nibley in Gloucestershire on 20 March 1470, between the troops of Thomas Talbot, 2nd Viscount Lisle and William Berkeley, 2nd Baron Berkeley. It is notable for being the last battle fought in England entirely between the private armies of feudal magnates.

WWT Slimbridge is a wetland wildlife reserve near Slimbridge in Gloucestershire, England. It is midway between Bristol and Gloucester on the eastern side of the estuary of the River Severn. The reserve, set up by the artist and naturalist Sir Peter Scott, opened in November 1946. Scott subsequently founded the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, which has since opened nine other reserves around the country. Slimbridge comprises some 800 hectares (2,000 acres) of pasture, reed bed, lagoon and salt marsh. Many water birds live there all year round, and others are migrants on their ways to and from their summer breeding grounds. Other birds overwinter, including large numbers of white-fronted geese and increasing numbers of Bewick's swans. Besides having the world's largest collection of captive wildfowl, Slimbridge takes part in research and is involved in projects and internationally run captive breeding programmes. It was there that Peter Scott developed a method of recognising individual birds through their characteristics, after realising that the coloured patterns on the beaks of Bewick's swans were unique. The public can visit the reserve throughout the year. Besides examining the collections, they can view birds from hides and observatories and take part in educational activities.

Slimbridge is a village and civil parish near Dursley in Gloucestershire, England. It is best known as the home of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust's Slimbridge Reserve which was started by Sir Peter Scott.

Cam is a large village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England, situated on the edge of the Cotswolds and contiguous with the town of Dursley, north of Bristol and south of Gloucester. The Cotswold Way runs less than a mile from the village. Cam had 8,160 residents with 3,575 households in the 2011 census. Its population is actually larger than neighbouring Dursley, which is a town.

Berkeley railway station served the town of Berkeley in Gloucestershire, England. The station was on the Sharpness Branch Line, part of the Midland Railway (MR), which connected the Bristol and Gloucester Railway main line at Berkeley Road station with the docks at Sharpness.
