Sainte-Martine, Quebec

The rivière des Fèves is a tributary of the Châteauguay River. It flows in the municipalities of Saint-Urbain-Premier and Sainte-Martine, in the Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional County Municipality, in the region administrative Montérégie, Quebec, Canada). The course of the river is served on the northeast side by the Rivière-des-Fèves North road and on the southwest side by the Rivière-des-Fèves Sud road. The river surface is generally frozen from mid-December to the end of March. Safe circulation on the ice is generally done from the end of December to the beginning of March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation.

In Canada, the course of the English River is mainly served mainly by the route 203 (chemin du rang du Moulin, chemin du rang Sainte-Anne). The Battle of Baker's Farm took place in Lower Canada on November 8, 1838, during the Patriot's War. It was the first and last military success of the Patriotes in the campaign of 1838. Eight hundred Patriotes gathered on a farm near Sainte-Martine, Quebec and fought off several attacks by Loyalist volunteers. After news of the defeat of Patriotes forces at the Battle of Odelltown spread, the massed Patriotes dispersed before the arrival of British troops.

Established in 1885, the municipality completely encloses the village of Howick, which was incorporated as a separate entity in 1915.

Châteauguay is a provincial riding (electoral district) in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the city of Châteauguay. It was originally created in 1867 (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). Its final election was in 1936. It disappeared in the 1939 and its successor electoral district was Châteauguay-Laprairie. However, Châteauguay-Laprairie only existed for one election. Châteauguay was re-created for the 1944 election. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost Sainte-Catherine to the newly created Sanguinet electoral district.

Léry is a small town situated along the south shore of Lake Saint-Louis in Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 2,307.
