Charlotte Plaza

Charlotte School of Law (Charlotte Law) was an independent for-profit college in Charlotte, North Carolina established in 2006. It was provisionally accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) in 2008, and fully accredited in 2011. However, the ABA placed the school on probation in 2016, resulting in the school's closure the following year. While Charlotte Law served the community through expungement programs and restitution self-help clinics, it was also criticized for alleged mismanagement and compliance issues, which were later found to be true. Charlotte Law was owned by the InfiLaw System.

The Overstreet Mall is a series of pedestrian bridges in Uptown Charlotte. Proposed in 1971 and completed around 1977, the design was based on the design of the Milan Galleria and the Montreal Place Ville-Maria. The mall has about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of walkways and bridges that connect various buildings between Three Wells Fargo Center and Truist Center.Rodney Little of Little & Co. said that in 1975, based on a Minneapolis design, was expected to be a big success as concern began about retailers moving to the suburbs. For this reason, Southern National Center did not face a major street, but was intended to be part of a network of bridges between office buildings and major stores such as Belk and Ivey's. Another reason for locating along College Street was the concern Tryon Street would run out of space. However, in the 1980s, the Charlotte City Council decided to limit additional walkways, and the uptown Belk and Ivey's closed by the end of the decade.

South Tryon Square is a development consisting of two 14-story high-rises in Charlotte, North Carolina. The first building, at 201 South Tryon, was opened in 1961 as the Barclays American; from its second renovation, in 1999, the facade was changed to the current gray and green granite with green glass and ornamental metal. The second building, at 237 South Tryon, was opened in 2001 as a hotel branded Courtyard by Marriott and houses the 698-space parking garage. Both buildings are also connected to the neighboring BB&T Center by dual skybridges, as part of the Overstreet Mall.

Two Wells Fargo Center is a 433-foot (132 m) skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed in 1971, it surpassed the Winston Tower in Winston-Salem as the tallest building in North Carolina, until 1974 when it was surpassed by Bank of America Plaza. It is currently the 13th tallest building in Charlotte. The building consists of 32 floors, an atrium, plaza, seven-story parking garage, and is connected to neighboring buildings via skybridges, as part of the Overstreet Mall.

Home Federal Building is a historic bank building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1967, and is a seven-story, reinforced-concrete, International Style building with an eight-story concrete-block service tower. Also on the property are a contributing fountain and pool (1967) and walkway bridge (1967). The building has been converted to condominiums. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

101 Independence Center is a high-rise office building located in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. It was completed in 1983 and stands at a height of 301 ft (92 m) with 20 floors. It is the seventh largest building in Charlotte by leasable square feet with 565,694 square feet. It sits on the former site of the Independence Building at Charlotte's Independence Square.

One South at The Plaza (formerly the Bank of America Plaza) is a 503 feet (153 m), 40-story skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the 6th tallest in the city. It contains 887,079 square feet (82,412 m2) of rentable area of which 75,000 sq ft (7,000 m2) of retail space, and the rest office space. On the ground floor is the Overstreet Mall, which connects to neighboring buildings via skybridges; located below-grade is the parking garage with space for 456 vehicles and leases a nearby five-level garage, providing 730 additional parking spaces. Opened in 1974 as NCNB Plaza, it served as the world headquarters for NCNB and its successor, NationsBank, until the opening of NationsBank Corporate Center in 1992. It was the tallest building in North Carolina from its completion in 1974 until it was surpassed by One First Union Center in 1987. The tower is located at the intersection of East Trade Street and South Tryon Street. A bronze sculpture entitled "Il Grande Disco" is located in the plaza adjacent to the building. Behringer Harvard REIT I Inc bought the tower in 2006. Cousins Properties acquired the building in 2019, and renamed it One South at The Plaza in 2021 after Bank of America relocated its employees elsewhere in Uptown. NCNB Plaza was built along with the 350-room Radisson Plaza. In 1998, LaSalle Advisors of Chicago owned NationsBank Plaza and the Radisson Plaza when Omni Hotels, which exited Charlotte two years earlier, bought the hotel with plans for an $8 million renovation, making it a Four Diamond luxury hotel.

One Wells Fargo Center is a 588-foot (179 m) skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina and is the headquarters for Wells Fargo's east coast division. Opening on September 14, 1988, it was the tallest building in North Carolina, until 1992 when it was surpassed by the Bank of America Corporate Center. The building consists of 42 floors, a connected 22-story Hilton Hotel, YMCA, parking garage, plaza, and is connected to Two Wells Fargo Center via skybridge, as part of the Overstreet Mall.

The Johnston Building, also known as the Midtown Plaza, is a 17-story office high-rise in Charlotte, North Carolina with an approximate height of 225.65 feet (69 m). Originally 15 stories when completed in 1924, it was the tallest building in Charlotte until 1926.

200 South Tryon is a 299 feet (91 m) tall high-rise in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was completed in 1961 and has 18 floors. It is the 19th tallest building in the city. Gerald D. Hines Interestspurchased what was then called the BB&T Building in December 1998 and began a renovation process that added another floor which was completed in 2001. and in the process was upgraded to contain all Class B office space. When completed as the NCNB Building, the building stood as the first glass high-rise in North Carolina. The NCNB Building and the George Cutter Building across the street may have been the state's first Miesian glass and steel skyscrapers. Both buildings were based on the Lever House building in New York City. The Commercial National Bank Building, completed in 1912 and 12 stories tall, once stood on the site.

The Battle of Charlotte was an American Revolutionary War battle fought in Charlotte, North Carolina on September 26, 1780. The battle took place at the Mecklenburg County Court House; which is now the site of the Bank of America tower at Trade and Tryon Streets in downtown Charlotte. An advance guard of General Charles Cornwallis' army rode into town and encountered a well-prepared Patriot militia under the command of William R. Davie in front of the court house. A skirmish ensued in which George Hanger, leading the British cavalry, was wounded. The small Patriot force, which had not intended more than token resistance, withdrew north toward Salisbury upon the arrival of Cornwallis and the main army.
