Norbury railway station

Norbury High School for Girls is a secondary school with academy status for girls aged 11–19. It is located in Thornton Heath, Greater London, England.

J. W. Hobbs' Ground was a cricket ground in Norbury, Surrey. The ground was constructed in 1885 within the grounds of Norbury Hall by local philanthropist J. W. Hobbs. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1887, when C. I. Thornton's XI played the Gentlemen of Canada. It hosted its only first-class match in the following year, when C. I. Thornton's XI played the touring Australians.Additionally, between 1984 and 1984, the ground played host to 3 Surrey Second XI matches in the Second XI Championship. The ground has also hosted 7 Second XI Trophy matches played by the Marylebone Cricket Club Young Cricketers from 1991 to 1992.The ground itself was sold to the South West Bank in 1911, who were taken over by Barclays Bank; cricket was played to a high quality at the ground through to the 1980s. In the 1990s, Barclays sold the ground to a private company who built a leisure centre on the ground, bringing to an end a century's worth of cricket at the venue.

Pollards Hill is a small residential district straddling south London boroughs of Croydon and Merton between Mitcham, Norbury and Thornton Heath. The boundary of the two boroughs is a street named Recreation Way. No roads directly cross the Croydon and Merton divide, and streets were planned according to borough, leading to differing architectural or building schemes. It lends its name to a ward of the London Borough of Merton.

Norwood Grove is an ornamental urban park in the northern extent of the London Borough of Croydon, by whom it is managed, although the most westerly part lies within the London Borough of Lambeth. It is bordered to the south-west by Covington Way, to the south-east by Gibson's Hill and to the north-east by Copgate Path, itself also referred to as 'Norwood Grove', and also by Ryecroft Road. To the north-west the grounds adjoin those of The Rookery (managed by the Borough of Lambeth) which itself adjoins Streatham Common of which Norwood Grove was once a part. The main entrances are on Covington Way and Gibson's Hill but access is also available from Copgate Path as it effectively forms part of the park for much of its length.

Streatham South ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, United Kingdom. It is the most southerly ward of the borough and has borders with Croydon, Merton, and Wandsworth. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 14,336. The ward includes the neighbourhoods of: Streatham Vale (south-west of Streatham Common railway station); Lower Streatham (west of Streatham High Road and south of Greyhound Lane); Streatham Lodge Estate conservation area (east of Streatham High Road and south of the Streatham Common open space).Streatham South ward is located in the Streatham constituency of the UK House of Commons, the Lambeth and Southwark constituency of the London Assembly, and was in the London constituency of the European Parliament.

The Norbury Estate originated as a London County Council cottage estate constructed between 1901 and 1920 at Norbury in what is now the north of the London Borough of Croydon. It was declared a conservation area in 2008. The site was a former brickfield, and the clay recovered was fired to make bricks for this estate and Totterdown Fields. The estate was influenced by Ebenezer Howard's Garden city movement and the Arts and Crafts movement, with high quality external detailing and an open setting with privet hedges, front gardens and wide grass verges.

Streatham Common is a large open space on the southern edge of Streatham in the London Borough of Lambeth. The shallow sloping lower (western) half of the common is mostly mowed grass, and the upper (eastern) half is mostly woodland with some small areas of gorse scrub and acid grassland. The eastern half has been designated a Local Nature Reserve.

Norbury is an area of south London. It shares the postcode London SW16 with neighbouring Streatham. Norbury is 6.7 miles (10.8 km) south of Charing Cross.

Woodmansterne School is a co-educational all-through school and sixth form located in the Streatham area of the London Borough of Lambeth, England.It is a community school administered by Lambeth London Borough Council. Originally a primary school, in 2016 Lambeth London Borough Council launched a consultation on plans to construct a secondary school department on the existing school site. The school then admitted its first cohort of secondary-age pupils in September 2017.Woodmansterne School offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-Levels and further BTECs.

Winterbourne Boys' Academy (formerly Winterbourne Junior Boys' School) is a junior school in the London Borough of Croydon for boys aged between 7 and 11 years. Along with its sister Girls' School, the schools are the last remaining single-sex, state-funded junior schools in the UK.

Bishop Thomas Grant School (BTG) is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form, situated in the Streatham area of the London Borough of Lambeth, England. The school is named after the first Bishop of Southwark, Thomas Grant (1816-1870) who was named in the First Vatican Council. The school was opened on 9 September 1959. BTG is a specialist school in Mathematics and ICT. In September 2009 Bishop Thomas Grant re-opened their sixth form which had closed in 1986. In their 2014 Ofsted inspection, BTG received a mark of outstanding in every category.

Biggin Wood is an area of ancient oak woodland situated within the London Borough of Croydon. The London Wildlife Trust is currently working with Croydon Council and the Friends of Biggin Wood to improve the site for wildlife, as a part of The Great North Wood Project.Biggin Wood is home to a range of British wildlife, including the Great spotted woodpecker, English Oak and Bluebell.
