Sathonay-Camp

Sathonay-Village (French pronunciation: [satɔnɛ vilaʒ] (listen)) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. The commune was created in 1908, when the former commune Sathonay was split into the communes of Sathonay-Camp and Sathonay-Village.

Sathonay is a former commune of the Ain department in France. It was divided into two new communes in 1908: Sathonay-Camp and Sathonay-Village. Since 1968, these communes are not part of Ain any longer, but are part of the Rhône department.

The Fort de Vancia is a former military installation built between 1872 and 1878 in the municipalities of Sathonay-Village and Rillieux-la-Pape, north of Lyon. Le Parc de la Feyssine is a park in Lyon, France. Situated between the Rhone river and the college campus of La Doua in Villeurbanne and to the north of Lyon, Parc de la Feyssine was created on former marshlands to serve as a passage from Parc de la Tête d'or to the Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage. Opened in 2002, it is wooded over 50% of its surface, and has trails for walking, mountain biking and running, including a circular path and the "chemin hectomètrique", a path with informational exhibits every 100m.
