Rippingale is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish was 929 at the 2011 census. The village is situated on the A15 road, about 5 miles (8 km) north from Bourne.Rippingale is part of the Ringstone in Aveland group of the Deanery of Beltisloe, Diocese of Lincoln. The vicar was the Revd Dr Lynda Pugh between 2012 and 2018. The incumbent is the Revd Neil Bullen. St Andrew's Church dates from the fourteenth century, though the tower is later. The village public house is The Bull Inn. A railway station on a line between Bourne and Sleaford opened in 1871 for goods and closed in 1964; regular passenger services lasted from 1872 to 1930.Rippingale falls within the drainage area of the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board.South of the village is the site of Ringstone, a lost village, which dates from before the Norman conquest and which survived into the 19th century as Ringstone Hall.TF094270 Rippingale has a village design statement produced by a Village Design Statement Committee. The committee was established by parish councillor Marcus Petz to produce guidance for South Kesteven District Council (SKDC). The statement was adopted in 2002.

Rippingale railway station was a station serving the villages of Rippingale, Dowsby and Dunsby, Lincolnshire on the Great Northern Railway Bourne and Sleaford railway. It opened in 1872 and closed to passengers in 1930. The section from Bourne through Rippingale to Billingborough remained open for goods until 1964.The station building is now a private residence.

Dowsby Hall is an early 17th-century house situated in Dowsby, Lincolnshire, England, and 6 miles (10 km) to the north of Bourne. Originally a much grander house, attributed to the architect John Thorpe, it was converted to farm house in the late 18th century. It is listed Grade II*. From about 1920 to 1987, it was the home of Henry Burtt, who suggested the idea of the radio programme The Archers to the BBC producer Godfrey Baseley.

Dowsby is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the western edge of The Fens at the junction of the east–west B1397 road and the north–south B1177. It is 1 mile (1.6 km) north-east from Rippingale and just south of Pointon. The civil parish includes the hamlet of Graby. Nearby to the east, along the B1397 at Dowsby Fen, is Car Dyke. The civil parish population taken at the 2011 census was 204.

Morton Road railway station was a station serving the village of Morton, Lincolnshire on the Great Northern Railway Bourne and Sleaford railway. It opened in 1872 and closed to passengers in 1930. The section from Bourne through Morton to Billingborough remained open for goods until 1965.Following closure the station buildings and yard were used for a local crawler tractor distributor. The main building is now a private residence and a housing development Old Station Yard now occupies the rest of the site.

Dyke is a village in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated less than 1 mile (1.6 km) east from the A15 road, and approximately 1 mile north-east from Bourne. Dyke is within Bourne civil parish. The name Dyke arises from its lying on Car Dyke, a once much larger Roman ditch, which runs along the western edge of The Fens. The section of Car Dyke between Dyke and Bourne is a scheduled ancient monument.For population statistics Dyke, Twenty, South Fen, and Spalding road outside Bourne are taken together; Dyke is the largest of these settlements. The 2001 census recorded a population of 1,598, falling to 1,541 at the 2011 census.Dyke and Dyke Fen fall within the drainage area of the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board.A new fountain was built on the green in the centre of the village to mark the millennium.Dyke's public house is The Wishing Well Inn.

Aslackby Preceptory in Lincolnshire lay to the south-east of Aslackby Church. Until about 1891 a tower, possibly of the preceptory church, together with a vaulted undercroft, survived as part the Temple farmhouse. Temple farmhouse was subsequently rebuilt and a 15th-century window and a stone pinnacle remain in the garden

Stainfield is a hamlet in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is 3 miles (5 km) north from Bourne and 1 mile (1.6 km) west from the main A15 trunk road. The hamlet is in the civil parish of Haconby. The name Stainfield (previously Stenfield) derives from "a stony clearing", from the Old Scandinavian 'steinn' and 'thveit'.Stainfield is the site of a Roman station, a settlement established on account of local mineral springs, where Roman coins have been found. The King Street (Roman road) passes through the hamlet. The springs were used until the middle of the 18th century. There was once a chapel in the hamlet.Stainfield is listed in the 1086 Domesday account as "Stainfelde" or "Steinfelde", in the manor of Haconby and Stainfield, and in the Aveland Hundred of Kesteven. The village contained 14 households, 13 villagers, 6 smallholders, 3 freemen and one priest. It comprised just over 3 ploughlands, a meadow of 40 acres (0.2 km2), woodland of 80 acres (0.3 km2), and one mill. The Lord in 1066 was Leofric. In 1086 the land was passed to Heppo the bowman, as Lord of the Manor and Tenant-in-chief.In 1933 Stainfield occupations included two farmers, one at the Manor farm, and three smallholders.

St James the Great Church is a Grade I listed Church of England parish church dedicated to James, son of Zebedee in Aslackby, Lincolnshire, England. The church is 7 miles (11 km) north from Bourne, and in the Aslackby and Laughton parish on the eastern edge the South Kesteven Lincolnshire Vales. The church is significant for its historic association with the Aslackby Preceptory of the Knights Templar, and its unusual arch details in the tower. St James' is in the ecclesiastical parish of Aslackby, and one of six churches in the Billingborough Group of Parishes, with their associated churches, in the Deanery of Lafford and the Diocese of Lincoln. Other churches in the group are: St Andrew's Church, Horbling; St Andrew's Church, Billingborough; St Andrew's Church, Sempringham; St Andrew's Church, Dowsby; and Christchurch, Pointon. The Group constitutes the Gilbertine Benefice. St James' is within the Aslackby conservation area.
