Civray, Vienne

The canton of Civray is an administrative division of the Vienne department, western France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Civray. It consists of the following communes:

Savigné (French pronunciation: [saviɲe]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France.

Saint-Gaudent (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ɡodɑ̃]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France.

Saint-Saviol (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ savjɔl]) is a former commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. On 1 January 2024, it was merged into the new commune of Val-de-Comporté.

Val-de-Comporté (French pronunciation: [val də kɔ̃pɔʁte]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It was formed on 1 January 2024, with the merger of Saint-Macoux and Saint-Saviol.

Genouillé (French pronunciation: [ʒənuje]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. Its population has been declining from its peak of 1495 in 1886 to its current level of 504 (2018).

La Chapelle-Bâton (French pronunciation: [la ʃapɛl batɔ̃]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It is 8 km northeast from Civray. In the mid to late 1990s it was one of the communes in France where, with the support of the local community, test drilling was carried out in an effort to create an underground nuclear waste storage/processing facility. After it was found to be geologically unsuitable, plans were subsequently abandoned.
