Savigné

The canton of Civray is an administrative division of the Vienne department, western France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Civray. It consists of the following communes:

La Chapelle-Bâton (French pronunciation: [la ʃapɛl batɔ̃]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It is 8 km northeast from Civray. In the mid to late 1990s it was one of the communes in France where, with the support of the local community, test drilling was carried out in an effort to create an underground nuclear waste storage/processing facility. After it was found to be geologically unsuitable, plans were subsequently abandoned.

Saint-Saviol (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ savjɔl]) is a former commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. On 1 January 2024, it was merged into the new commune of Val-de-Comporté.

Val-de-Comporté (French pronunciation: [val də kɔ̃pɔʁte]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It was formed on 1 January 2024, with the merger of Saint-Macoux and Saint-Saviol.

Charroux (French pronunciation: [ʃaʁu]) is a commune in the Vienne department, in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, western France. The remains of the Benedictine Charroux Abbey, founded in the 8th century, are preserved in the town. Said to be the site of the council of Charroux in 989 where the bishops of Aquitaine met to protect the immunity of the clergy and suggested that the church should guarantee that the poor might live in peace.
