Bussang

The Théâtre du peuple is a theater located in Bussang, France, built in 1895 by Maurice Pottecher.The theatre was added to the list of historical monuments in 1975 and is always in activity, putting on a new performance each year. Performances take place on every Sunday of July and August. The Théâtre du peuple is constructed entirely of wood and can seat up to 1,200 people. The Théâtre du peuple was the first people's theatre to be established in France after the Revolution. Originally it was an open-air theatre, in which Pottecher staged folk and morality plays, often performed by locals in dialect. Its low costs, low ticket prices and the offer of a free performance per season proved a successful formula for Sunday-afternoon theatre. Pottecher used his success as a platform to launch a people's theatre campaign (soon taken up by Nobel-prize winner Romain Rolland). The proscenium arch of the theatre bore the motto "Through Art for Humanity". Pottecher worked at the Théâtre du Peuple until his death in 1960, after which members of his family continued the tradition. Its current director is Pierre Guillois.

The Ballon d'Alsace (French pronunciation: [balɔ̃ dalzas]; German: Elsässer Belchen, pronounced [ˈɛlzɛsɐ ˈbɛlçn̩]) (el. 1247 m.), sometimes also called the Alsatian Belchen to distinguish it from other mountains named "Belchen") is a mountain at the border of Alsace, Lorraine, and Franche-Comté. From its top, views include the Vosges, the Rhine valley, the Black Forest, and the Alps. A road leads over a pass near the peak at the Col du Ballon d'Alsace, 1,171 m (3,842 ft). The pass is noted as the site of the first official mountain climb in the Tour de France on 11 July 1905, the first rider to the top of the climb being René Pottier and the stage being won by Hippolyte Aucouturier. Stage 9 of the 2005 Tour crossed this pass on the centenary of the original climb. Ballon d'Alsace features Alpine and Cross Country skiing tracks. The mountain is part of the so-called Belchen System, a group of mountains with the name "Belchen" (in German) that may have been part of a Celtic sun calendar.

Fresse-sur-Moselle (French pronunciation: [fʁɛs syʁ mɔzɛl] , literally Fresse on Moselle) is a commune in the Vosges department of Grand Est in northeastern France. The name Moselle refers to the river Moselle that bypasses. In the left of Fresse sur Moselle is situated Le Thillot and in the right of Fresse of Moselle is situated Bussang.In the top is situated Le Menil and in the bottom is situated Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle.

The Arboretum de Fresse-sur-Moselle (3 hectares) is an arboretum located in Fresse-sur-Moselle, Vosges, Grand Est, France. It contains about 150 varieties of trees.

The Col du Ballon d'Alsace (1,178 m (3,865 ft)) is a mountain pass situated close to the summit of the Ballon d'Alsace (1,247 m (4,091 ft)) in the Vosges Mountains of France. It connects Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle (Vosges) with Masevaux (Haut-Rhin) and Belfort. The Ballon d'Alsace was the first official mountain climb in the Tour de France on 11 July 1905 although the tour had crossed the slightly lower Col de la République (1,161 m (3,809 ft)) in each of the previous two years. The first rider to the top of the Ballon was René Pottier, with the stage being won by Hippolyte Aucouturier. Stage 9 of the 2005 Tour crossed this pass on the centenary of the original climb.

Le Ménil (French pronunciation: [lə menil] ) is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est in northeastern France. It is sometimes called Le Ménil-Thillot to distinguish it from nearby Ménil-de-Senones. Inhabitants are called Guédons.

The Xoulces is a small but abundant river in France which flows in Lorraine in the Vosges department. It is a left tributary of the Moselotte, and thus a sub-tributary of the Rhine via the Moselotte and the Moselle. It is 9.4 km (5.8 mi) long.

Cornimont (French pronunciation: [kɔʁnimɔ̃] (listen); German: Hornenberg) is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est in northeastern France.

Lac des Perches is a lake in Haut-Rhin, France. At an elevation of 984 m, its surface area is 0.044 km². It is located on the Alsatian side of the Vosges Mountains in the municipality of Rimbach-près-Masevaux.

The Communauté de communes des Hautes Vosges is an administrative association of rural communes in the Vosges department of eastern France. It was created on 1 January 2017 by the merger of the former Communauté de communes de Gérardmer-Monts et Vallées, Communauté de communes de la Haute Moselotte and Communauté de communes Terre de Granite. On 1 January 2022 8 communes separated from the Communauté de communes des Hautes Vosges to form the new Communauté de communes Gérardmer Hautes Vosges. It consists of 14 communes, and has its administrative offices at Cornimont. Its area is 305.2 km2, and its population was 21,195 in 2019 (geography as of January 2022).
