Thumb Mountain

Skatutakee Mountain is a 1,998-foot (609 m) monadnock located in Hancock, New Hampshire approximately 13 mi (21 km) east of the city of Keene and 8 mi (13 km) north of Mount Monadnock. The mountain shares a common base with Thumb Mountain, 1,978 feet (603 m), 3,000 feet (910 m) to the west. Much of the mountain is wooded but open ledges near the summit provide views of the surrounding countryside; vistas include the north face of Mount Monadnock. The south side of the mountain drains into Jaquith Brook, thence into Nubanusit Brook, the Contoocook River, the Merrimack River, and the Atlantic Ocean. The north side drains into Ferguson Brook, thence the Contoocook River. The mountain is part of a 12,500 acres (51 km2) "supersanctuary" composed of a number of conservation properties and easements facilitated by the Harris Center for Conservation Education, other non-profit entities, and the state of New Hampshire. The Harris Center maintains several hiking trails on the mountain and an environmental educational center at the mountain's north foot.

Nubanusit Lake is a 718-acre (2.91 km2) lake located on the border between Cheshire and Hillsborough counties in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Nelson and Hancock. The outlet of the lake is Nubanusit Brook, a tributary of the Contoocook River in the Merrimack River drainage basin. The lake is classified as a coldwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow perch, and horned pout.

The Stationmaster's House is a historic house on Jaquith Road in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Built in 1896, it is one of the few surviving elements of the town's historic railroad infrastructure. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery, with observed species including smallmouth and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, horned pout, northern pike, and black crappie.

The Jabez Townsend House is a historic house at the southwest corner of Hancock and Cherry Hill Roads in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Built in 1853, it is a good local example of a rural Greek Revival farmhouse. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Moses Eaton Jr. House is a historic house on Hancock Road (New Hampshire Route 137) in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Built about 1790, it is one of the oldest houses in the eastern part of Harrisville, and was home for fifty years to the itinerant folk stenciler Moses Eaton Jr. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Timothy Bancroft House is a historic house on Bancroft Road in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Located in a rural area once known as Mosquitoville, this c. 1785 wood-frame house was built by Timothy Bancroft, who operated a sawmill nearby that was one of the town's major industries for nearly a century. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Point Comfort is a historic house on South Skatutakee Road in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Built in 1892, this 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house is one of the earliest summer resort houses to be built along the shores of Skatutakee Lake, and an architecturally eclectic mix of the Queen Anne and Arts and Crafts styles. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Wildwood Cottage is a historic house on Bancroft Road in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Built in the 1860s, this 1+1⁄2-story Greek Revival cottage is one of two surviving houses associated with a small-scale industrial area known as "Mosquitoville". It was probably the residence of the owners of the sawmill at the site. The Mosquitoville complex (of which only the two houses survive), was an economically significant part of the town for nearly 100 years, supplying wooden parts to the mills in the center of Harrisville. This house stylistically resembles some of those built in the village.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Harrisville Historic District is a well-preserved historic New England mill village located in the southwest part of New Hampshire. It consists of about 200 acres (0.81 km2) and about 135 structures. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.The district is located about 10 miles (16 km) east of Keene, New Hampshire, then 3 miles (4.8 km) north on Harrisville-Dublin Road from New Hampshire Route 101.

Harrisville Pond is a 138-acre (0.56 km2) water body located in Cheshire County in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Harrisville. It is one of many lakes and ponds along Nubanusit Brook, a tributary of the Contoocook River. Water from Nubanusit Lake flows via the Great Meadows into the pond on the north side and out of the pond at two dams on the south side. One dam allows the level of the pond to be raised or lowered and also adjusts the flow through the mills that span that part of the outlet, while the other dam is made of large stones and sandbags. The village of Harrisville is located at the outlet of the pond. The pond is warm water and contains largemouth and smallmouth bass, Eastern chain pickerel, brown bullhead, black crappie and bluegill.

Harrisville is a town in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. Besides the town center, it also includes the villages of Chesham and Eastview. The population of the town was 984 at the 2020 census.It is a preserved 19th-century mill town located in the Monadnock region of southern New Hampshire. There are nine bodies of water in the town, many back roads and trails to explore, and two original train depots at Harrisville and Chesham.
