Carmelita for his home games in the Liga FDP

INCAE Business School (an acronym for Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas, English: Central American Institute of Business Administration") is an international business school located at the Francisco de Sola campus in Nicaragua and the Walter Kissling Gam campus in Costa Rica. The school was founded with the assistance of professors from Harvard Business School in 1964. Although INCAE is independent, it adheres to the Harvard's case study method. The case study method allows students to examine past and current business situations, which gives them two years' worth of indirect, real-world experience across industries and regions. The case study method offers students the opportunity to step into the shoes of managers, critique their decisions and provide alternative solutions. While the majority of cases are translations from Harvard Business School case studies, INCAE students are additionally provided with emerging market studies from Latin America. INCAE offers a 2-year MBA in Costa Rica and a 15-month intensive MBA in Nicaragua. Other programs include the Executive MBA and seminars. Juan Santamaría International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría) (IATA: SJO, ICAO: MROC) is the primary airport serving San José, the capital of Costa Rica. The airport is located in the city of Alajuela, 20 km (12 miles) west of downtown San José. It is named after Costa Rica's national hero, Juan Santamaría, a drummer boy who died in 1856 defending his country against forces led by American filibuster William Walker. The airport is a hub for Avianca Costa Rica, Costa Rica Green Airways, Sansa Airlines, and Volaris Costa Rica and a focus city for Copa Airlines. It was the country's only international gateway for many years, but now there is also an international airport in Liberia, Guanacaste. Both airports have direct flights to North and Central America and Europe, but Juan Santamaría International Airport also serves cities in South America and the Caribbean. Juan Santamaría International Airport was once the busiest airport in Central America, but is currently second after Tocumen International Airport in Panamá. In 2016, Juan Santamaría International Airport received 4.6 million passengers (international and domestic). In 2011, the airport was named the 3rd Best Airport in Latin America - Caribbean from the Airport Service Quality Awards by Airports Council International.

Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center, formerly Rescate Animal Zoo Ave, is an urban park of approximately 14 hectares (35 acres), located in La Garita, in the canton of Alajuela, Costa Rica. It has an average altitude of 814 meters and is bounded to the north by the bed of the river Rio Poas. The site includes the largest collection of bird species in Latin America.It is administered by a conservation nonprofit foundation called Fundación Restauración de la Naturaleza, which also is responsible for the country's largest rehabilitation center in the Rescate Wildlife campus.

The National Technical University (Universidad Técnica Nacional) (UTN), was founded on 4 June 2008 as the fifth public university of Costa Rica. DHL de Guatemala Flight 7216 was an international cargo flight between Costa Rica's Juan Santamaría International Airport (IATA: SJO, ICAO: MROC) and Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport (IATA: GUA, ICAO: MGGT). On 7 April 2022 (2022-04-07), the Boeing 757 operating the flight suffered a hydraulic failure, and crashed on landing at the Costa Rican airport. Neither of the two pilots were injured.
