McCovey Cove

A bronze statue of baseball player Willie Mays was unveiled outside the main entrance of Oracle Park, in San Francisco, California on March 31, 2000. A native of Westfield, Alabama, Mays is considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of baseball. The statue is located in front of the ballpark entrance at 24 Willie Mays Plaza and is surrounded with 24 palm trees, in honor of his uniform number 24 which was retired by the San Francisco Giants. The statue was dedicated prior to the opening of the Pacific Bell Park (as it was known at the time).

A bronze statue of San Francisco Giants pitcher Juan Marichal was unveiled outside the main entrance of Oracle Park, in San Francisco, California on May 22, 2005. The Dominican-born Marichal is considered to be one of the greatest pitchers in the history of baseball, and was the winningest pitcher of the 1960s. The statue is located in front of the "Lefty O'Doul" entrance. The statue was dedicated in 2005 at SBC Park (as it was known at the time). It depicts Marichal's signature high kick.

A statue of American baseball player Willie McCovey was installed in McCovey Cove, San Francisco. It was unveiled in 2003.The statue was removed by San Francisco Giants and put into safe storage in July 2020. It will be put back in public display in 2023.

China Basin Park is a 5-acre (2.0 ha) park in San Francisco, California, located at the mouth of Mission Creek in the Mission Bay neighborhood and across from the Oracle Park baseball stadium. The park features a hilly lawn, dog run, artificial beach, amphitheater seating, and a statue of Willie McCovey. A section of the Bay Trail runs through it. The park is not operated by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department but rather falls under the jurisdiction of the Port of San Francisco. After 15 years of planning in conjunction with the Mission Rock development, the park opened to the public before the San Francisco Giants' home opening game on April 5, 2024, and had an official grand opening several weeks later on April 25.

Steamboat Point a headland marking the northeastern limit of Mission Bay, on San Francisco Bay. It was named for the shipyards that built and repaired steamboats there during the 1850s to the mid 1860s.

Oracle Park is a baseball stadium in the SoMa district of San Francisco, California. Since 2000, it has served as the home stadium of the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. Previously named Pacific Bell Park, SBC Park, and AT&T Park, the stadium's current name was purchased by the Oracle Corporation in 2019.The stadium stands along the San Francisco Bay; the section of the bay beyond Oracle Park's right field wall is unofficially known as McCovey Cove, in honor of former Giants player Willie McCovey. Oracle Park has also hosted professional and collegiate American football games. The stadium was the home of the annual college postseason bowl game now known as the Redbox Bowl from its inaugural playing in 2002 until 2013, and also served as the temporary home for the University of California's football team in 2011. Professionally, it was the home of the San Francisco Demons of the XFL and the California Redwoods of the United Football League. Public transit access to the stadium is provided within San Francisco by Muni Metro or Muni Bus, from the Peninsula and Santa Clara Valley via Caltrain, and from parts of the Bay Area across the water via various ferries of San Francisco Bay. The Muni 2nd and King Station is directly outside the ballpark, the 4th & King Caltrain station is 1.5 blocks from the stadium, and the Oracle Park Ferry Terminal is outside the eastern edge of the ballpark beyond the center field bleachers.

The Lefty O'Doul Bridge (also known as the Third Street Bridge or China Basin Bridge) is a bascule bridge connecting the China Basin and Mission Bay neighborhoods of San Francisco, carrying Third Street across the Mission Creek Channel. It is located directly adjacent to Oracle Park.

The Canyon is a 23-story waterfront residential tower in the Mission Rock neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The site was previously a parking lot.

The King Street Garage was a nightclub located at 174 King Street in San Francisco, California, near the present location of AT&T Park. It was directly adjacent to, and physically connected with, the Club Townsend, another famous nightclub on the other side of the block located at 177 Townsend Street.

The Lydia is a wrecked whaling ship located below the foot of King Street in San Francisco, California. The ship was built in 1840 and wrecked in 1907. San Francisco was later built up over the site of the wreck, and it was not rediscovered until a sewer construction project unearthed the remains in 1980. The shipwreck included an intact case of twenty-four bottles of ginger beer brewed by A.S. Watson & Co. The shipwreck was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981, and a plaque marking the site was placed in 2005.

China Basin Landing, now referred to as simply China Basin, is an office complex on the border of the South of Market (SoMa) and Mission Bay areas of San Francisco, California. The complex has 917,000 square feet (85,200 m2) of space. It is the headquarters of Lyft and Dignity Health.

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) was created in 2004 after 59% of California voters approved California Proposition 71: the Research and Cures Initiative, which allocated $3 billion to fund stem cell research in California. Institutes dedicated to stem cell research and training exist at Sanford Consortium, University of California, Santa Cruz, Stanford University, University of California Davis, University of California Irvine, University of California San Francisco, University of California Los Angeles and University of Southern California. Five “Alpha Stem Cell Clinics have also been established to lead clinical trials for stem cell therapies at City of Hope, University of California San Diego, University of California San Francisco, University of California Davis and a joint clinic at University of California Los Angeles and University of California Irvine.
