Tempe Butte (O'odham: ʼOidbaḍ Doʼag) is the official name of an andesite butte of volcanic origin, located partially on Arizona State University's Tempe campus in Tempe, Arizona. It is often referred to by locals as A Mountain, after the 60-foot-tall (18 m) gold-painted letter 'A' near the top. Another name for the area, used by the City of Tempe, is Hayden Butte. The highest point of Tempe Butte stands at 1,495 feet (456 m) in elevation, while its base is at approximately 1,150 feet (350 m) in elevation. Tempe Butte is most often seen as the backdrop to games held in Sun Devil Stadium, including until recently the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, as well as Super Bowl XXX.

The Harrington–Birchett House is a former residence in downtown Tempe, Arizona. Originally built in 1895, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Mona Plummer Aquatic Center is the aquatic center used by the Arizona State University Sun Devils swim team. It opened in 1981, cost four million dollars to build, and is named after Mona Plummer. Plummer was a national championship winning coach who died in 1979; she coached during three decades.The complex consists of three pools, including an Olympic-size competition pool, and a diving platform; it has seating for 2,000. It is located on the ASU campus in Tempe, Arizona. The facility hosted the 1989, 1991, 1993, and 1998 Pac-10 Diving Championships, as well as the 1981, 1991, and 1999 NCAA Zone E Diving Championships. The venue is regarded as one of the best collegiate aquatic centers in the nation.In October 2011, a former ASU swimmer drowned at the facility.

The Tempe Municipal Building is an inverted pyramid-shaped building which serves as the city hall of Tempe, Arizona. It was designed by architects Rolf Osland, Michael Goodwin and Kemper Goodwin, and built during 1969–1971.

Mountain America Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium in the southwestern United States, on the campus of Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, Arizona. The stadium is officially named Mountain America Stadium, Home of the ASU Sun Devils. It was named Sun Devil Stadium until 2023. It is home to the ASU Sun Devils football team of the Pac-12 Conference. The stadium's seating capacity as of 2018 is 53,599, reduced from a peak of 74,865 in 1989. The natural grass playing surface within the stadium was named Frank Kush Field in 1996 in honor of the former coach of the team. The stadium underwent a five-year, $304-million renovation that was completed in August 2019.The stadium has hosted two annual college football bowl games: the Fiesta Bowl from 1971 to 2006, and the Cactus Bowl from 2006 to 2015. Sun Devil Stadium was the home of the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) from the 1988 through the 2005 seasons when the Cardinals moved into their own stadium in Glendale. The stadium was the only major football stadium in the Phoenix metropolitan area until the opening of State Farm Stadium.

The Decision Theater at Arizona State University is an 8,000-square-foot (740 m2) visualization environment that accommodates up to 30 participants.The core component of the Decision Theater is the ‘drum’ comprising a 260-degree faceted screen, seven rear-projection passive stereo sources, tracking devices and surround sound. This enables data to be displayed and interacted with in a panoramic setting using 2D or 3D stereoscopic video. Unlike some visualization labs and flat-wall display facilities, the Decision Theater is an immersive environment designed for collaboration. Participants are often arranged in a conference configuration to improve human engagement with each other and to interact with the visual information around them. They can take advantage of a variety of tools to improve decision making including 3D and geospatial visualization, simulation models, system dynamics, and computer-assisted tools for collecting participant input and collaboration. They also have access to the university’s ongoing research in policy informatics, design, geography, computational science, business, psychology and mathematics. The facility is used by federal, state and local government agencies, community planners and policy makers in business to address complex problems ranging from hyper growth, and water resource management to disease monitoring. These fall into four domains: Urban growth, Public health, Education, and Environment. The Decision Theater concept originated in 2005 and reflects the university leadership’s desire to create a different type of visualization center, one focused on issues related to new urbanism, smart growth and sustainability. That vision called for the creation of a space where researchers at the university and community could explore common issues in a neutral setting.

Old St. Mary's Church – formerly Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and also known as "The Old Church: – at 230 East University Avenue in Tempe, Arizona, is a historic church at the built in 1903 and designed in the Romanesque Revival style by Father Severin Westhoff. It is the longest standing church in the Phoenix metropolitan area and served as a Catholic parish for the Tempe area until 1968, when it became home to the Arizona State University Newman Center. It currently serves as home to Mary College at ASU, a center for Catholic Studies formed in partnership between the University of Mary and Arizona State University, the Diocese of Phoenix, and the All Saints Catholic Newman Center. The Newman Center's offices and chapel stand adjacent to the historic church. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 under the name "Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church". It is the only example of Romanesque Revival architecture in the Tempe area, and one of only a few in Arizona.

Sessions College for Professional Design is a private for-profit online college in Tempe, Arizona. It offers associate degrees, undergraduate certificates, and vocational certificates. It is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) and accredited at the certificate program level by Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools.

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (often abbreviated to the Fulton Schools) is the engineering college of Arizona State University. The Fulton Schools offers 25 undergraduate and 48 graduate degree programs in all major engineering disciplines, construction and computer science. In 2023 the Fulton Schools became the first university in the nation to offer a bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree in manufacturing engineering. The Fulton Schools comprises seven engineering schools located on both ASU's Tempe and Polytechnic campuses. School of Sustainability is the first school in the United States dedicated to exploring the principles of sustainability. The school was established in 2006 at Arizona State University. The School offers a BA and BS in Sustainability, a BS in Sustainable Food Systems, a Master of Sustainability Solutions, Master of Sustainability Leadership, Executive Master of Sustainability Leadership, MS in Sustainable Food Systems, MA, MS, and PhD in Sustainability, and PhD in Sustainable Energy. It is located within the Global Futures Laboratory at the Arizona State University Tempe campus. In Fall 2016, the School of Sustainability expanded its BA and BS degree offerings to the Arizona State University Polytechnic campus located in Mesa, Arizona. As of May 2016, 947 students have graduated with degrees in Sustainability at ASU. Of those, 758 graduated with a bachelor's degree, 190 with a master's degree, and 42 with a PhD. In fall 2021, approximately 1,100 students were enrolled in sustainability programs at the School of Sustainability. The School of Sustainability works with other colleges at Arizona State University to offer a Minor in Sustainability, a BA in business with a Sustainability concentration, a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with a Sustainability concentration, a Bachelor of Science in Public Service and Public Policy with a Sustainability concentration, a BS in Tourism Development and Management with a Sustainability Tourism concentration, and a Bachelor of Sustainability Engineering. The Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability, the Minor in Sustainability, the Master of Sustainability Leadership, the BA in Business and Sustainability, and the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with a Sustainability Concentration may be taken through ASU Online, Arizona State University's online college.

Mill Avenue/3rd Street (also known as Downtown Tempe/Town Lake) is a station on the Valley Metro Rail light rail line in Tempe, Arizona, United States. As of the opening of the Tempe Streetcar line on May 20, 2022, it serves as one of two transfer stations between the Valley Metro line and the Streetcar.

Long Wong's on Mill was a club in Tempe, Arizona. Long Wong's on Mill was the center of the Tempe music scene, which peaked in the early 1990s, and it was where the Tempe band the Gin Blossoms got their start. In turn, the popular band made the club famous. Long Wong's also featured Tempe based bands such as Dead Hot Workshop and The Refreshments, who would all go on to sign with major record labels. Long Wong's closed on April 3, 2004.
