Glabbeek

Vissenaken is a village in Belgium. It is part (deelgemeente) of the municipality Tienen. It is located north of the city of Tienen and is divided into two parishes: Sint-Maartens and Sint-Pieters. The saint Himelin is known only in Vissenaken.

Tienen (French: Gare de Tirlemont) is a railway station in the town of Tienen, Flemish Brabant, Belgium. The station opened on 22 September 1837 and is located on line 36. The train services are operated by National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS). The station building dates from 1841 and is the oldest station building in Belgium that is still in existence. Tienen used to be located on 22 (to Diest) and 142 (to Namur). These two lines were closed between 1967 and 1990 and are now cycle routes.

Tienen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈtinə(n)] (listen); French: Tirlemont [tiʁləmɔ̃]) is a city and municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Flanders, Belgium. The municipality comprises Tienen itself and the towns of Bost, Goetsenhoven, Hakendover, Kumtich, Oorbeek, Oplinter, Sint-Margriete-Houtem and Vissenaken. On 1 January 2017 Tienen had a total population of 34,365. The total area is 71.77 km2 (27.71 sq mi) which gives a population density of 444 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,150/sq mi).

Tielt-Winge (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌtiltˈʋɪŋə]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Houwaart, Meensel-Kiezegem, Sint-Joris-Winge and Tielt. On 1 January 2006, Tielt-Winge had a total population of 10,009. The total area is 44.16 km² which gives a population density of 227 inhabitants per square kilometre.

Bekkevoort (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɛkəvoːrt] ) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Assent, Bekkevoort proper and Molenbeek-Wersbeek. On January 1, 2006, Bekkevoort had a total population of 5,826. The total area is 37.17 km2 which gives a population density of 157 inhabitants per km2. It gains its name from the Germanic name "Baco" and the word "voorde" (which means a place of ferriage, where one can easily cross a stream via a place where the waters are lower), thus roughly meaning "Baco's wade". This ferriage formed the historical center of the town and is nowadays known as the road Steenberg, from Bekkevoort to Zichem and Scherpenheuvel.

Goetsenhoven Airfield (ICAO: EBTN) is a former Belgian Air Component base, located 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Tienen, approximately 26 miles (42 km) east-southeast of Brussels. The airfield was last used militarily as a training facility for Belgian Air Cadets, equipped with six Piper L21B Super Cubs, and several Schleicher K 8B Gliders.

The N2 road in Belgium is a road connecting Brussels and Maastricht passing Leuven, Diest and Hasselt. It starts in Brussels at the Madou crossroad on the small ring, heading northeast as the Chaussée de Louvain/Leuvensesteenweg, which crosses the municipalities of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, City of Brussels, Schaerbeek, Evere and Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in Brussels, and then enter Flanders via the municipality of Zaventem, Flemish Brabant. When the road enters the municipality of Herent it is named Brusselsesteenweg up to Leuven. When it leaves Leuven, the road is named Diestsesteenweg as it leads to Diest. It is then named successively Staatsbaan, Leuvensesteenweg, Diestsesteenweg, Staatsbaan, Leuvensesteenweg and Eduard Robeynslaan. When leaving Diest and entering Halen, the road enters the province of Limburg. At this point, the road (named Halensebaan) crosses the European route E314. The subsequent names of the road are: Staatsbaan, Grote Baan, Diestsesteenweg, Steenweg, Diestersteenweg, Kuringersteenweg. Just before entering Hasselt, the road crosses the European route E313. When leaving Hasselt, it is named Diepenbekerweg, then Steenweg, Kapelstraat, Wijkstraat, Grendelbaan, Tipstraat, Beverststraat, Holt, Hasseltstestraat, Brugstraat, Maastrichterstraat, Bilzerbaan and Tweede Carabinierslaan. It then enters the Netherlands. The road crosses in total 19 municipalities. 5 in the Brussels-capital Region, 8 in the province of Flemish Brabant and 6 in the province of Limburg. The Battle of Roosebeke (sometimes referred by its contemporary name as Battle of Westrozebeke) took place on 27 November 1382 on the Goudberg between a Flemish army under Philip van Artevelde and a French army under Louis II of Flanders who had called upon the help of the French king Charles VI after he had suffered a defeat during the Battle of Beverhoutsveld. The Flemish army was defeated, Philip van Artevelde was slain and his corpse was put on display.

Sint-Joris-Winge is a village in the Belgian municipality of Tielt-Winge, in the province of Flemish Brabant. As of 2003, it had 2,870 inhabitants.

Hoegaarden (Dutch: [ˈɦuɣaːrdə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. The municipality comprises the villages of Hoegaarden proper, Meldert and Outgaarden. On January 1, 2006, Hoegaarden had a total population of 6,225. The total area is 33.93 square kilometres (13.10 square miles) which gives a population density of 183 inhabitants per km².

The Battle of Elixheim, 18 July 1705, also known as the Passage of the Lines of Brabant was a battle of the War of the Spanish Succession. The Duke of Marlborough successfully broke through the French Lines of Brabant, an arc of defensive fieldworks stretching in a seventy-mile arc from Antwerp to Namur. Although he was unable to bring about a decisive battle, the breaking and subsequent razing of the lines would prove critical to the allied victory at Ramillies the next year.

Eliksem is a village located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. It is part of the municipality of Landen. The village is known for the Battle of Elixheim, where the word Elixheim is an 18th-century English/French transformation of Eliksem.
