Biville

The Jardin botanique du Château de Vauville (4 hectares), also known as the Jardin botanique de Vauville, is a private botanical garden located on the grounds of the Château de Vauville near Beaumont-Hague in Vauville, Manche, Normandy, France. It is open afternoons in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged. The garden was begun by Eric Pellerin in 1948 on a windy site located within 300 meters of the Atlantic Ocean. Today it contains more than 900 semi-tropical species of plants from the Southern Hemisphere set within windbreaks of diverse eucalyptus and bamboo. Collections include aloes, Dimorphotheca, Echium pininana, and palm trees.

Cap de la Hague is a cape at the tip of the Cotentin peninsula in Normandy, France. The La Hague area has precambrian granite and gneiss cliffs, several coves and small fields surrounded by hedges. France's oldest rocks are to be found on its coast in Jobourg. Other rocky outcroppings on the coast include Cadomian granite in Auderville and Variscan granite in Flamanville.The La Hague cape consists of two promontories about half a mile apart. The cape itself, which has the lighthouse and a lifeboat station, is very low-lying. The dialect of the Norman language spoken by a minority in the region is called Haguais. The Norman poet Côtis-Capel was a native of the region and used the landscape as inspiration for his poetry. The painter Jean-François Millet was also a native of the region. The La Hague site, the largest light water reactor nuclear waste reprocessing plant on earth (over half of the world's capacity), is located in the region.

A hamlet (Gruchy) of the village is the birthplace of Jean-François Millet, a notable impressionist painter. Several of his most important paintings depict local landscapes or rural labour. Location of a major World War II battery, as well as massive French fortifications (never completed) to protect the deep-water port of Cherbourg.

Éculleville (French pronunciation: [ekylvil]) is a former commune in the Manche department in Normandy in north-western France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune La Hague.
