Penllergaer (electoral ward)

Penllergaer (Welsh: Penlle'r-gaer) is a village and community in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. It lies to the east of Gorseinon, within the electoral ward of the same name. It is situated about 4.5 miles north west of Swansea city centre, near junction 47 of the M4 motorway. The population of the community and ward was 2,868 in 2011.

Penllergare is a country park in Wales. It was the estate of John Dillwyn Llewelyn adjacent to what is now the village of Penllergaer, Swansea. Although the names are similar, the village of Penllergaer grew up as a separate entity from the Penllergare estate. The park is listed on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

The Battle of Llwchwr (or Battle of Gower) was a battle fought between Welsh and Norman forces between Loughor and Swansea on New Year's Day 1136.

Tircoed forest village is a suburb between the villages of Penllergaer and Pontlliw, Swansea, Wales. It is part of the Pontlliw and Tircoed community. Built from the late 1980s onwards, Tircoed currently consists of 470 houses clustered around a village hall, pond and green, accessible from the A48 via a 1⁄2-mile-long (0.80 km) road. The village has its own local community radio station - Radio Tircoed. The population in 2011 was around 884 people.The village is located in the Pontlliw and Tircoed electoral ward of Swansea.

It is owned by Moto and features BP gas station. Amenities include, Burger King, Costa Coffee & Express, Greggs, WHSmith, with accommodations by Travelodge and Full House.

Pontlliw and Tircoed is a community and electoral ward in the north of the City and County of Swansea, Wales. It includes the villages of Pontlliw and Tircoed. According to the 2011 UK Census Pontlliw and Tircoed had a population of 2,529.

Pontlliw (Welsh spelling: Pont-lliw) is a village in the community of Pontlliw and Tircoed, part of the City and County of Swansea in Wales. The village is located near Pontarddulais, off Junction 47 of the M4 motorway. The name of the village comes from the Welsh word for bridge (pont) and the name of the River Lliw which runs through the village. The Pontlliw and Tircoed community has an elected community council and has a population of 2,075. The village itself had a population of around 1,645 in 2011.Pontlliw has a primary school, as well as a number of small businesses such as a newsagent, Post Office, a restaurant and public house - The Buck and an Indian restaurant - Rasoi.Pontlliw has one active chapel, Carmel Baptist, which runs activities throughout the week in both Welsh and English.The village also is home to Pontarddulais Golf Club - which lies within the boundaries of Pontlliw despite its name featuring neighbouring village Pontarddulais. The 9-hole course opened in the 1990s under the name Allt y Graban.Pontlliw Village Hall is regularly used to stage theatrical performances and concerts as well as classes run by local groups.

Garden Village is located near Gorseinon, Wales. It falls within the City and County of Swansea's Kingsbridge ward.

Gorseinon is a town within the City and County of Swansea, Wales, near the Loughor estuary. It was a small village until the late 19th century when it grew around the coal mining and tinplate industries. It is situated in the north west of Swansea City Centre, around 6 miles (10 km) north west of the city centre. Gorseinon is a local government community with an elected town council. The population of the Gorseinon town council area in the 2011 Census is 8,693. However, the ONS defines an area called the Gorseinon Urban Area which comprises all of the continuous built up area in and around Gorseinon. This area includes Gorseinon, Loughor, Garden Village and Penllergaer and has a population of 20,581.
