Blodelsheim (French pronunciation: [blodəlsaim] ) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

Chalampé (French pronunciation: [ʃalɑ̃pe] ; German: Eichwald) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Alsace in north-eastern France, just across the river Rhine from Neuenburg, Germany. The town was founded by soldiers of Marshal Dubourg who in 1709 had beaten the Austrians under Count Claude Florimond de Mercy in the War of the Spanish Succession. It is located in an area called Eichwald (oak forest) by the otherwise German-speaking population of the Alsace, and bears its French name since 1735. Before Johann Gottfried Tulla and others straightened the Rhine in the 19th century, the river had changed its course several times, moving the border. Thus, the village was sometimes considered to be part of Germany.

The Klemmbach, a small Black Forest stream, has its source in the southwestern Black Forest near a mountain pass between the summits of Blauen and Belchen. It flows westward through Badenweiler, Müllheim and Neuenburg and empties into the Rhine in Neuenburg am Rhein.

It is known for: its hydroelectric power plant on the Grand Canal d'Alsace (built 1953–1956, inaugurated 1957); the Fessenheim Nuclear Power Plant next to the Grand Canal d'Alsace, formerly the oldest in service in France since 1977 until it shut down in 2020; a road and pedestrian bridge over the Rhine (210 m long, 7 m wide) to Hartheim in Germany since 2006; the Victor Schœlcher museum, honoring the 19th Century Abolitionist Victor Schœlcher whose father, Marc Schœlcher, was born in Fessenheim.

The Fessenheim Nuclear Power Plant is located in the Fessenheim commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France, 15 km (9.3 mi) north east of the Mulhouse urban area, within 1.5 km (0.93 mi) of the border with Germany, and approximately 40 km (25 mi) from Switzerland. Unit 1 was closed in February 2020 and unit 2 on 29 June 2020.

Gutnau Priory, also spelled Guttnau or Guttenau (German: Kloster Gutnau, Guttnau or Guttenau), was a small Benedictine nunnery in Neuenburg am Rhein, in the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.

Bundesautobahn 862 (translates from German as Federal Motorway 862, short form Autobahn 862, abbreviated as BAB 862 or A 862) was an autobahn in Germany. Its purpose was to connect the French Autoroute 36 with the German Bundesautobahn 5 via a bridge over the Rhine. At 400 metres, the A 862 was Germany's shortest autobahn; it was later integrated as an onramp into the A 5.
