It forms part of the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération, the inter-communal local government body for the Mulhouse conurbation. A few centuries ago, it was still a small village but nowadays Kingersheim has become the eighth municipality of the Haut-Rhin. The town is mainly a residential district but we can also find an important commercial area which extends up to Wittenheim. Its inhabitants are called Kingersheimois and Kingersheimoises.

Wittenheim (French pronunciation: [vitənaim] ; in Alsatian Wìttana, [ˈvɪd̥ana]) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department, Grand Est, northeastern France. It is one of the northern suburbs of the city of Mulhouse, and forms part of the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération, the inter-communal local government body for the Mulhouse conurbation. The commune contains two mining villages, the Cité Jeune-Bois and the Cité Sainte-Barbe.

The Mosque al-Nour (also known as Mosque an-Nour; French: Mosquée An-Nour or Centre An-Nour) is a mosque in Mulhouse, France. It was launched in 2009 for the construction of a religious and cultural center for the Muslim community in Mulhouse, the second largest city in the Alsace region.Kuwait and Qatar are the main funders of this project, administered by AMAL (Association des Musulmans d’Alsace, Alsace Muslim Association), a prominent Muslim association established in Mulhouse in 1973 with the goal of advocating for a place of worship for the local Muslim community as well as for their education, and social, cultural and economic engagement.

Under contract to the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération, it operates the city's bus network and three of the lines of the city's tram network. It also jointly operates, with the French national rail operator SNCF, the city's fourth tram line, a tram-train service. Soléa is a mixed private and public sector company. Its principal shareholders are the transport group Transdev (67.8%), the Paris transport operator RATP (20%), the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération (10%) and the Colmar transport operator TRACE (1%). Soléa carries more than 107,800 passengers per day, and serves a community of 245 367 inhabitants, in an area of 227 square kilometres (88 sq mi). It has 544 employees.
