Middle Wallop is a village in the civil parish of Nether Wallop in Hampshire, England, on the A343 road. At the 2011 Census the population was included in the civil parish of Over Wallop. The village has a public house, The George Inn, and a petrol station as well as The Wallops Parish Hall.

The Army Flying Museum, previously known as the Museum of Army Flying, is a British military aviation museum about the history of flying in the British Army. It is located beside the Army Air Corps Centre in Middle Wallop, close to Andover in Hampshire, England.

Army Aviation Centre (AAC) Middle Wallop is a British Army airfield located near the Hampshire village of Middle Wallop, used for Army Air Corps training. The base hosts 2 (Training) Regiment AAC and 7 (Training) Regiment AAC under the umbrella of the Army Aviation Centre. 2 (Training) Regiment performs ground training; 7 (Training) Regiment trains aircrew on AAC aircraft after they complete basic training at RAF Shawbury. The base is notable for having previously served as both a Royal Navy (as HMS Flycatcher) and a Royal Air Force (as RAF Middle Wallop) controlled airfield, as well as an Army one.

Nether Wallop is a village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England. It is located approximately 3.7 miles (6 km) northwest of Stockbridge, and approximately 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Andover. Nether Wallop is the easternmost of the three villages collectively known as The Wallops, the other two being Over Wallop and Middle Wallop. The name "Wallop" derives from the Old English words waella and hop, which taken together roughly mean "the valley of springing water". The village was the site of the Battle of Guoloph that took place around AD 440. The element 'Wallop' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086 as 'Wallope', while Nether Wallop is first attested as 'Wollop inferior' c. 1270 in Episcopal Registers.Nether Wallop contains many old thatched cottages, and has been featured in books and TV programmes as one of the prettiest villages in England. In particular, Dane Cottage in Five Bells Lane was used as Miss Marple's home in the village of St. Mary Mead for the BBC TV adaptations of the Agatha Christie novels. The house and many of the surrounding lanes within the village were used as the setting and are commonly seen throughout many of the Miss Marple films. Sir Richard Reade (1511–1575), Lord Chancellor of Ireland, was a native of Nether Wallop, where his family were Lords of the Manor for several generations. The conductor Leopold Stokowski died at his home in Nether Wallop on 13 September 1977. The church of St Andrew is partly Anglo-Saxon, and unique fragments of frescoes apparently dating to the late Anglo-Saxon period have been discovered.For more than 200 years one of the two village pubs, The Five Bells, was a place to meet, eat and enjoy alcohol. For a few it was the centre of the village; a social hub along with the uniquely quaint village hall. Over the last two decades it has had a number of tenants and managers who were unable to make a success of the business. It finally closed in 2013 when the most recent tenant surrendered his lease early citing a lack of local support for the pub. The Nether Wallop Parish Council had it listed as a Community Asset that year. Whilst it remains closed the village has formed a Community Benefit Society, and sufficient pledged finance, to buy it at its current market value, but have so far failed to provide the owners with evidence of the availability of the funds for their proposed purchase .

The Battle of Guoloph, also known as the Battle of Wallop, took place in the 5th century. Various dates have been put forward: 440 AD by Alfred Anscombe, 437 AD according to John Morris, and 458 by Nikolai Tolstoy. It took place at what is now Nether Wallop, 15 kilometers southeast of Amesbury, in the district of Test Valley, northeastern Hampshire. The battle was an internal conflict between the rival Britonnic forces of Ambrosius Aurelianus and Vortigern (Vitalinus).

Grateley is a village and civil parish in the north west of Hampshire, England. The name is derived from the Old English grēat lēah, meaning 'great wood or clearing'.The village is divided into two distinct settlements, 0.75 miles (1.21 km) apart: the old village and a newer settlement built around the railway station on the West of England Main Line. The hamlet of Palestine adjoins the railway station settlement, although it is located in the civil parish of Over Wallop.Grateley lies just to the south of the prehistoric hill fort of Quarley Hill. The parish covers 1,551 acres (6.28 km2) with 616 people living in 250 dwellings. The village has one pub, a thirteenth-century church dedicated to St Leonard, a primary school, a school for children with Asperger syndrome, a railway station, a small business park, a golf driving range, and is surrounded by farmland with ancient footpaths and droveways. King Æthelstan issued his first official law code in Grateley in about 930 AD. Recorded in the early 12th century Quadripartitus text, which referred to a ‘great assembly at Grateley’ (magna synodo apud Greateleyam). The legestaive assembly and construct of the Grateley law code acted as a manifestation of the peripatetic nature of Anglo-Saxon kingship.In the 20th century Grateley was one of many ammunition dumps during the World Wars.The economic history of Grateley is agricultural, but less than 10% of the village population now rely upon agriculture as an occupation.

Grateley railway station serves the village of Grateley, Hampshire, England, and the surrounding countryside. It is 72 miles 49 chains (116.9 km) down the line from London Waterloo. It is operated by South Western Railway. The station opened on 1 May 1857. It was built 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) southwest of Grateley village, near the hamlet of Palestine, after the local landowner objected to it being built any closer. Since then, a new settlement has grown up around the station. On 5 June 1861, the Grateley station master was killed as a result of a driver and guard rushing to move freight wagons.The station has few facilities and is unmanned. There is a self-service ticket machine on platform 1 and smartcard readers on both platforms. There are two car parks for the large number of commuters who use the station. Displays on each platform show the next two trains. All trains are operated by South Western Railway.

Palestine is a village which lies in the civil parish of Over Wallop, approximately 7 miles (11 km) south-west of Andover, in Hampshire, England. It consists mainly of fields, farms and a few dozen houses with the built-up area having 283 residents at the 2011 Census. Most houses are built in a bungalow style.The main roads are Streetway Road, Mount Hermon Road and Mount Carmel Road. The settlement adjoins the village of Grateley, which has a railway station with hourly South Western Railway trains to London Waterloo and Salisbury, half hourly in peak times. The parish boundary runs down the centre of Streetway Road, meaning that when a new housing development was built on the north side of the road, the residents on the south side could not officially object, as the development was within a different parish.

Ashley's Copse is the site of an Iron Age hillfort, about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of the city of Salisbury, England, straddling the border between the counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire. The site is a scheduled monument.Half the site is wooded, and here can be found the best preserved earthworks, but there is also visible evidence of some of the earthworks on the eastern spur of the hill. To the southeast of the fort lies a steep valley, forming a natural defence. The flanks to the north and east are also tightly contoured but the ground on the other aspects slopes less steeply. The fort site is not on the summit of the (unnamed) hill, but lies slightly to the east of the 166m AOD summit, at between 155m and 160m AOD.

Quarley Hill is the site of an Iron Age univallate hill fort in Hampshire, southern England. The hill affords commanding views of the surrounding countryside. Oval in plan, the fort is in good condition with a counter-scarp and well defined entrances at north-east and south-west. It is built on the site of an earlier palisade enclosure. There is evidence of prehistoric activity in the area including four large Bronze Age ditches radiating from the hill fort, believed to be part of a Bronze Age farming settlement, and a barrow cemetery about a mile away to the north. There is also evidence for a Roman settlement on the northeast side of the hill, with Roman coins of Maximum II and Constantine the Great, and other sherds found in 1951.Today, the ditches and ramparts are for the most part clear, with the centre of the site given over to small trees and shrubs. The site is recorded as a scheduled ancient monument no.67.The fort is surrounded by a Site of Special Scientific Interest called Quarley Hill Fort.

Quarley Hill Fort is a 3.5-hectare (8.6-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Grateley in Hampshire.Quarley hillfort is a hillfort with no public access, which is privately owned. This site on the land surrounding the Iron Age hill fort on Quarley Hill has chalk grassland which is maintained by cattle grazing. It is rich in herbs, such as felwort, small scabious, dropwort, chalk milkwort, greater butterfly-orchid and bastard toadflax.
