Prospect Quarry

Wellow is a village on the Isle of Wight. It is located about two miles east of Yarmouth in the northwest of the island. The name is believed to be of Jutish origin. Recently a proposal to erect a wind farm was rejected after a high-profile protest campaign. Located within Wellow are a small chapel, post office, vineyard and several farms including Mattingley and Manor Farm. The Hamstead trail runs through Wellow.

The 1957 Aquila Airways Solent crash occurred on the Isle of Wight in England on 15 November. With 45 lives lost, at the time it was the second worst aircraft accident within the United Kingdom, then at the time the worst ever air disaster to occur on English soil.

Compton Down is a hill on the Isle of Wight just to the east of Freshwater Bay. It is part of the chalk ridge which forms the "backbone" of the Isle of Wight. It runs east to west, is approximately three miles (4.8 km) long and is predominantly grass downland. The Down is owned and managed by the National Trust and it provides the setting for the Freshwater Bay Golf Course at its western end. It is a 196.3-hectare (485-acre) Site of special scientific interest. The site was notified in 1951 for both its biological and geological features.

Thorley is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight, England. It is 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) from Yarmouth in the northwest of the island and is 9 miles (14 km) west from Newport. In 1931 the parish had a population of 125.

Brook is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Brighstone, on the Isle of Wight, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 156. On 1 April 1933 the parish was abolished and merged with Brighstone.

Ningwood railway station, was an intermediate station of the Freshwater, Yarmouth and Newport Railway, incorporated in 1860.

Ningwood is a village on the Isle of Wight. It is on several lanes about three miles east of Yarmouth in the northwest of the island. In the 2011 Census the population of the village was included in the civil parish of Shalfleet.

Chessell is a hamlet on the Isle of Wight, England, towards the west in an area known as the Back of the Wight on the B3401 road. Public transport used to be provided by Southern Vectis on route 1. It is the location of the Chessell Pottery Barns, a popular tourist attraction.
