Vlierzele is a village on the Molenbeek, in the Denderstreek, at the edge of the Flemish Ardennes, the hilly southern part of East Flanders, Belgium. It belongs to the municipality of Sint-Lievens-Houtem. Etymologically the name Vlierzele is derived from Fliteritsale (in 639) and Vliendersele (in 1412). Herzele (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɛrzeːlə]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders in the Denderstreek. The municipality comprises the villages of Borsbeke, Herzele proper, Hillegem, Ressegem, Sint-Antelinks, Sint-Lievens-Esse, Steenhuize-Wijnhuize and Woubrechtegem. In 2021, Herzele had a total population of 18,414. The total area is 47.40 km². The current mayor of Herzele is Johan Van Tittelboom, from the Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats party. Herzele is crossed by two brooks, the Molenbeek in Borsbeke, Herzele, Ressegem, and Hillegem, as well as the Molenbeek-Ter Erpenbeek in Herzele, Sint-Lievens-Esse, Woubrechtegem, and Ressegem.

Leeuwergem Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Leeuwergem) is a stately home in the village of Elene in the municipality of Zottegem, East Flanders, Belgium.

Grotenberge is a village belonging to the municipality of Zottegem. It is located on the Molenbeek and the Molenbeek-Ter Erpenbeek within the Denderstreek and the Flemish Ardennes, the hilly southern part of the East Flanders province, Belgium. Grotenberge is known for the Domain of Breivelde, a 19th-century large garden, turned into a romantic style park with an arboretum. The park also hosts a castle. Construction started in 1830, the current state dates from around 1879. In 1970, the domain was bought by the city of Zottegem, and has received a protected state in 1982.The village was first mentioned as Grothemberge in 1235. It became an independent municipality in the 18th century, but merged into Zottegem in 1970. The former muncipality covered an area of 4.66 square kilometres (1.80 sq mi).

Breivelde Castle (Dutch: Kasteel (van) Breivelde) and the surrounding park Breivelde estate (Domein Breivelde) is a castle in Grotenberge, Zottegem in Belgium. Breivelde castle was built in Renaissance Revival architecture in 1904 by owner Philippe Plancqaert van Exen van Beauvechain, replacing a mansion erected in 1871 by former owner August De Rouck. It is surrounded by a public English landscape garden containing ponds, cascades and exotic trees. The imitation river bend (created around 1852) mirrors the castle in its waters. Since 1971 the domain is open to the public. The castle underwent several restorations; a new restoration phase started after 2021. It is a heritage monument landscape since 1982.

Leeuwergem is a village belonging to the municipality of Zottegem. It is located on the Molenbeek, in the Denderstreek and Flemish Ardennes, which is part of the hilly southern part of the East Flanders province, Belgium. Leeuwergem used to be part of the heerlijkheid of Zottegem. From 1271 onwards, it formed a heerlijkheid with Massemen. It was an independent municipality until 1970, when it was merged into Zottegem.Leeuwergem and the neighbouring village of Elene host the 18th century Leeuwergem Castle domain, a private estate of 32 hectares.

Rock Zottegem is a music festival organized annually in Zottegem, Belgium.The first edition took place in 1994. Through the years, it evaluated from a small free event in the city center of Zottegem to a mid-size festival outside the center. Since 2005, the format changed to a two-day (and occasionally three-day) festival, hosting up to 30,000 visitors.International artists like James Brown, Iggy Pop, Toto, ZZ Top, Elvis Costello and Deep Purple headlined Rock Zottegem.
