Nodeland Station

Nodeland is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder County, Norway. Nodeland was the administrative centre of former Songdalen municipality which was merged into Kristiansand in 2020. The village is located about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northwest of the city center of Kristiansand. The village is the main urban area of Songdalen area, surrounded by several smaller villages such as Nodelandsheia, Brennåsen, Volleberg, and Hortemo.Nodeland Station is a railway station along the Sørlandet Line. All trains between Kristiansand and Stavanger (except overnight trains) stop in the village at this station. Greipstad Church is also located in Nodeland and it was the main church for the municipality. The 1.26-square-kilometre (310-acre) village has a population (2015) of 2,208 which gives the village a population density of 1,752 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,540/sq mi).

Greipstad Church (Norwegian: Greipstad kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Nodeland. It is the church for the Greipstad parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a rectangular design in 1829 using plans drawn up by the architect Arild Sibbern. It was built in the empire style. The church seats about 330 people.

Greipstad is a former municipality in the old Vest-Agder county, Norway. Brennåsen is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the river Songdalselva, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) southeast of the village of Nodeland and about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) north of the village of Volleberg. The European route E39 highway passes through Brennåsen as it travels between the cities of Kristiansand and Stavanger. The village was part of Songdalen municipality prior to 2020 when that municipality was dissolved. The 1.05-square-kilometre (260-acre) village has a population (2015) of 523, giving the village a population density of 498 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,290/sq mi). The village has a shopping centre, post office, school, and gas station.

Volleberg is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the river Songdalselva, in former Songdalen municipality, right on the border with former Søgne municipality (pre 2020). The European route E39 highway passes by the village on its way from Nodeland and Brennåsen about 1 to 2 kilometres (0.62 to 1.24 mi) to the north and Tangvall (in Søgne) about 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) to the south. The 0.32-square-kilometre (79-acre) village has a population (2016) of 560 which gives the village a population density of 1,750 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,500/sq mi). The village is primarily a residential community with people working in the nearby urban areas of Kristiansand and Søgne.

Songdalen is a former municipality in the old Vest-Agder county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1964 until 2020 when it was merged with Søgne and Kristiansand municipalities to form a new, much larger Kristiansand municipality in what is now Agder county. It was located in the traditional district of Sørlandet, just outside of the city of Kristiansand. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Nodeland. Other villages in the municipality included Brennåsen, Finsland, Kilen, Nodelandsheia, and Volleberg. The Sørlandsbanen railway line ran through the municipality, stopping at Nodeland Station. The European route E39 highway also ran through the southern part of the municipality. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the 216-square-kilometre (83 sq mi) municipality is the 323rd largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Songdalen is the 161st most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 6,568. The municipality's population density is 31.8 inhabitants per square kilometre (82/sq mi) and its population has increased by 16% over the last decade.

Tangvall is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. It was the administrative centre of the old Søgne municipality which existed until 2020. The village is located along the European route E39 highway and the river Søgneelva. The village sits just north of Åros and Høllen, northeast of the village of Eig, and east of the village of Lunde. Together, Tangvall, Lunde, Høllen, Eig, Åros, and Langenes all form one large urban area known as Søgne. The 5.87-square-kilometre (1,450-acre) urban area has a population (2015) of 9,147 a population density of 1,558 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,040/sq mi). The Old Søgne Church is located in the southeastern part of the urban area, just north of Åros and Langenes. The "new" Søgne Church is located in Lunde. The municipal government is based in Tangvall since 1974. Prior to that time, it was located in Lunde. The municipal high school is also located here.

Old Søgne Church (Norwegian: Søgne gamle kirke) is a historic parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the southeastern part of the village of Tangvall. It was once the main church for the Søgne parish which is now part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, timber-framed church was built in a long church design in 1640 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 270 people. The "new" Søgne Church was built about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) to the northwest of this location in 1861 to replace this (smaller) church. Since that time, this church is no longer regularly used, but it is available for special occasions such as baptisms and weddings.

Kartheia is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the borough of Vågsbygd and in the district of Slettheia. The neighborhood lies southwest of the junction of the European route E39 highway and the County Road 456. The district of Hellemyr lies to the north. Kartheia contains residential areas as well as a large industrial area. Gislemyr lies to the south, Trane lies to the west, and Hannevika lies to the east.

Søgne Church (Norwegian: Søgne hovedkirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Lunde, just west of Tangvall. It is the church for the Søgne parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform design in 1861 using plans drawn up by the architect Christian H. Grosch. The church seats about 750 people. Inside, the church has balcony seating along all the walls leading up to the chancel. The chancel floor is raised three steps above the floor of the nave.

Åros is a village in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the river Søgneelva between the village of Høllen to the west and Langenes to the east. The west side of Åros reaches the Høllefjorden. Åros Feriesenter is a large recreational area along the fjord. It includes a camping facility and a beach area that is a popular attraction in the summer for residents and tourists alike. Årosskogen is the main residential neighborhood in the village. As a part of the greater Søgne urban area in Kristiansand, separate population statistics are not tracked for Åros.
