Lake Bel Air is a lake in the town of North Smithfield, in Providence County, Rhode Island.

Slatersville Reservoir is a large lake in the village of Slatersville in the town of North Smithfield in Providence County, Rhode Island. The Slatersville Reservoir was created for use by the nearby Slater family's textile mills when a "larger dam, known as the Middle Dam, was built in 1849. It is 300 ft (91 m) long, and creates a twenty-foot (6.1 m) drop. Behind the dam is the 170 acres (69 ha) Lower Slatersville Reservoir. The smaller dam was built later to increase the water power. The sluice gate here controlled the amount of water flowing into the raceway that powered the Slatersville Mill." The two dams, which now create waterfalls, can be seen from the North Smithfield Public Library.

Nasonville is a village in Burrillville, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. It was home to various manufacturers in the 19th century. The village was founded by Leonard Nason in 1825 when he purchased land along the river to found a axe and hoe factory.

The William Mowry House is an historic farm house on Farnum Pike in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. It is a 2+1⁄2-story plank-framed house, five bays wide, with a gable roof and a large central chimney. The main entrance is centered on the main (south-facing) entry, and is enclosed within a single-story hip-roof vestibule of 20th-century construction. A small single-story ell extends to the west of the main block. The interior follows a typical center-chimney plan, with the kitchen and parlor in the front of the house, and the dining room flanked by a small pantry and bathroom in the rear. The house was built c. 1802-05 by William Mowry, whose family has owned land in the area since the 17th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Primrose is a village in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, United States. The village is located in the area around Greenville Road and Providence Pike. The village takes its name from the Primrose railroad station which existed on Greenville Road for the Providence and Springfield Railroad which began service in 1873. The Primrose Fire Department and North Smithfield High School are located in the area. The historic Primrose Grange (1887) building is located on Grange Road as well as several eighteenth-century farms surrounded by stonewalls.

The North Smithfield School District is a school district in the Primrose section of North Smithfield, Rhode Island. It operates two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.

The Branch River is a river in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It flows for approximately 16 km (10 mi). There are six dams along the river's length, including those forming the Slatersville Reservoir. The river provided energy for many of the region's textile mills in the nineteenth century.

Slatersville is a village on the Branch River in the town of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, United States. It includes the Slatersville Historic District, a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic district has been included as part of the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. The North Smithfield Public Library is located in Slatersville. Slatersville was associated with and named for Samuel Slater and John Slater, members of the well-known Slater family. In the late nineteenth century, the Woonsocket and Pascoag Railroad was built through the village, and the line was later acquired by the Providence and Worcester Railroad and run as a freight rail line terminating in Slatersville near a steel distributor by the Slater Mill, rather than its former endpoint in Pascoag.

North Smithfield is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States, settled as a farming community in 1666 and incorporated into its present form in 1871. North Smithfield includes the historic villages of Forestdale, Primrose, Waterford, Branch Village, Union Village, Park Square, and Slatersville. The population was 12,588 at the 2020 census.

North Smithfield Public Library is a public library at 20 Main Street in the village of Slatersville in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. Part of the library is currently located in a renovated nineteenth century stone mill building that was a mill store house for John Slater's nearby mill before it became the North Smithfield Public Library in 1966, and the library is adjacent to the Slatersville Reservoir. An extensive addition was added in the 1980s. The Library was originally founded in 1931 with the first branch in the Union Village school before eventually moving to Slatersville.
