Mundolsheim

Lampertheim is a commune of the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.The town shares a large shopping centre (Parc commercial Strasbourg nord) with the neighbouring communes of Mundolsheim und Vendenheim.

It has been the eastern terminus of the LGV Est high-speed rail from Paris to Strasbourg since 2016.

Souffelweyersheim (French pronunciation: ​[sufœlvajœrsajm]; also German: Suffelweyersheim, pronounced [zʊfl̩ˈvaɪ̯ɐshaɪ̯m]; Alemannic German: Süffelwirsche in the Alsatian dialect) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department, Alsace, Grand Est, northeastern France, and is part of metropolitan Strasbourg.

TGV 001 (Train à Grande Vitesse 001 ) was a high-speed railway train built in France. It was the first TGV prototype and was commissioned in 1969, to begin testing in 1972. The TGV 001 was an experimental gas turbine-electric locomotive-powered trainset built by Alstom to break speed records between 250–300 kilometres per hour (160–190 mph). The experimental train was part of a vast research program on high rail speeds. This program covered all technical aspects, principally traction, the behaviour of the vehicles, braking, aerodynamics and signalling. Originally, two trains were to be built, but only one was produced. The second was to be a tilting train equipped with an active tilting system, but was abandoned owing to technical difficulties.

Mittelhausbergen (French: Mittelhausbergen, pronounced [mitəlawsbɛʁɡən]; Alsatian: Míttelhüsbàrje, [mɪd̥əlhysˈb̥aʁjə]; German: Mittelhausbergen) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

Reichstett (French pronunciation: ​[ʁaiʃtɛt]) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. Fort Rapp is located here.

Institut Charles Sadron is a research center of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (National Centre of Scientific Research), associated with the University of Strasbourg, which was created in 1954 to answer the demand for fundamental research in the emerging field of polymer science.

Fort Rapp (once called Fort Moltke) is part of the 14 fortifications erected in Alsace by the Prussian general Von Moltke after the fall of Strasbourg in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War and following the siege of Strasbourg. Built between 1872–1874 and inaugurated on 26 September 1874, it was part of the fortifications meant to protect the city from French attacks. Since 1918 and the return of Alsace-Lorraine to France, it is named after the French general Jean Rapp. The fort is located in Reichstett, a village situated 10 minutes north of Strasbourg and belonging to the Urban Community of Strasbourg. The fort contains 200 rooms and was able to host a garrison of 800 men. It was protected by 18 cannons of 90-150mm.

The École européenne de chimie, polymères et matériaux (ECPM; European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials Science) of Strasbourg is a public engineering school in the city of Strasbourg, in Alsace, France. It was founded in 1948, and is located on the Cronenbourg Campus of the University of Strasbourg. Each year 90 students graduate from the school with a diplôme d'ingénieur. It is a National School of Engineers, part of the University of Strasbourg and a member of the Fédération Gay-Lussac, which recruits from the common polytechnic entrance examination. It is also part of the Alsace Tech network of nine engineering schools in Alsace. The ECPM offers its students three specialties: chemistry (analytical or organic), polymers or materials.

Eckwersheim is a commune, in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. It is around 11 km (7 mi) north of Strasbourg. On 14 November 2015 the commune was the location of a derailment during testing of a TGV train along the LGV Est high-speed rail line. At least ten people were killed after the train caught fire and plunged into the Marne–Rhine Canal.

Pfulgriesheim (German: Pfülgriesheim) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.It lies northwest of Strasbourg along the D41 road out of the city.
