Walton, Peterborough

The Queen Katharine Academy (formerly The Voyager Academy and The Voyager School) is a secondary school with academy status in Peterborough in the United Kingdom. The school was formed in 2007 by the amalgamation of Walton Community School and Bretton Woods Community School.

The Iqra Academy is a girls-only independent school opened in 2009 in Peterborough, England. It is based around Islamic principles, however accepts both Muslim and non-Muslim students.

Walton railway station was a station in Walton, Cambridgeshire. It was on the Midland Railway's Syston and Peterborough Railway line between Peterborough and Stamford. It was closed in 1953. The Great Northern Railway main line runs adjacent to the Midland Railway at this point, but the Great Northern never had a station in Walton. This was due to an agreement whereby the Midland carried materials to the site during construction of the Great Northern, and in return the Great Northern offered no competition for services on this section

New England is a residential area of Peterborough in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. For electoral purposes it forms part of Peterborough North ward. The area is bounded by Millfield to the south, Dogsthorpe to the east, by the A47 (Soke Parkway) to the north and the A15 (Bourges Boulevard) to the west. The Faidhan-e-Madina Mosque opened here in 2003.Railway lines began operating locally during the 1840s, but it was the 1850 opening of the Great Northern Railway's main line from London to York, that transformed Peterborough from a market town to an industrial centre. Relatively little urban development took place to the west of the railway, but the marshalling yards and other installations were labour-intensive and housing for railway workers and their families spread from the vicinity of the North station almost to Walton. The Great Northern built an entire community here, which provided much of the labour for the enormous marshalling yard and associated engine sheds close by.The area falls within the ecclesiastical parish of Saint Paul and a Victorian church was erected at the Triangle in 1869. Fulbridge County Primary School is located in the area; following the closure of nearby Walton Comprehensive School in July 2007, secondary pupils attend Queen Katharine Academy which opened on the same site in September 2007.

Peterborough Sports Football Club is an English football club based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The club are currently members of the National League North and play at Lincoln Road.

Peterborough North End Sports Football Club is a football club based in Peterborough, England. They are currently members of the Peterborough & District League Premier Division and play at Lincoln Road, groundsharing with Peterborough Sports.

Gunthorpe is a residential area of the city of Peterborough, in the unparished area of Peterborough, in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. Since 2015 Gunthorpe has its own ward within Peterborough City Council that also encompasses parts of South Werrington.Development in Gunthorpe has been ongoing since the 1950s. The new Roman Fields development is in progress across the A15 and will include parks and a new academy. Development at the Roman Fields has been concurrent since 2006.There has also been activity in the north of Paston which is now Gunthorpe Ridings- a large development dating back to 1982 to 1988 by Wilcon Homes. Previously Wilcon Homes's area office was located on Meal's Gate.On the primary road going straight through Gunthorpe, there is two shop units, a pub and school. The school being opened as a primary school in 1975 and the 2 shop units and pub all opening with the Wilcon Homes development although the shop units have switched firms multiple times.

Ravensthorpe is a residential area and electoral ward of the city of Peterborough, in the unparished area of Peterborough, in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. Ravensthorpe County Primary School is located in the area with secondary pupils usually attending nearby Jack Hunt School in Netherton. Ravensthorpe was mainly built as a part of north-west Bretton in the 1960s. It was built primarily as council housing and cheap family residencies during Peterborough's extensive growth during the 1970s and 1980s.

Bretton is a settlement and civil parish on the north western edge of Peterborough, in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. Bretton has been designed as a green environment; the major roads (Bretton Gate and Way) are tree-lined and there are several large parks and playing fields. It consists of two main areas; North Bretton and South Bretton, these are divided by Bretton Centre. North Bretton has the larger population and is home to the industrial estates and most leisure facilities as well as the Crematorium. The main entrance to Milton Hall is from Bretton Way in South Bretton and Nene Park is accessed via an under pass beneath the A47. Bretton Centre's main building is The Cresset multi-purpose venue, holding a large stage and seating, shops, a church, children's entertainment and places to eat. HM Prison Peterborough is a Category B private prison for men, and a closed prison for women and female young offenders, located in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England. The prison is operated by Sodexo Justice Services, and is the only dual purpose-built prison holding males and females in the United Kingdom. The prison, which has a population of 320 inmates, comprises four large wings, each with a separate housing arrangement for female detainees and male detainees. It is managed by the Newton Secure Training Centre (NSTC), and the associated training centre, which operates under Sodexo Services, comprises 26 housing units, ranging from 12-storey purpose built units to 10-storey semiprivate accommodation units.

Westwood is a residential area of the city of Peterborough, in the unparished area of Peterborough, in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. For electoral purposes it forms part of Ravensthorpe ward. Manufacturers of industrial machinery, Baker Perkins, relocated here from London in 1903. HMP Peterborough, the first purpose-built prison to house both men and women, opened on the site of the former engineering works in 2005. The area was named after DJ Tim Westwood's father, former bishop. The construction of the estate began in the mid 1960s on land formerly in use as RAF Peterborough, a Second World War training base for allied and Commonwealth pilots. The adjacent Westwood Farm, formerly Horrells Dairies, is now home to the New Covent Garden Soup Company. Highlees County Primary School is located in the area; secondary pupils attend nearby Jack Hunt School in Netherton. The Anglican parish church is dedicated to St Jude.
