Ospel

Ospeldijk is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a part of the municipality of Nederweert, and lies about 11 km northeast of Weert. The village was first mentioned in 1978 as Meijelse Dijk, and means "dike near Ospel".The Holy Spirit Church was a modern aisleless church built between 1957 and 1958. The church was demolished in 2008 and replaced by houses.Ospeldijk is an access point to De Groote Peel National Park.

Nederweert (Dutch: [ˈneːdərˌʋeːrt] ; Limburgish: Ni-jwieërt [ˈnɪjˌwiəʀt]) is a municipality and a town in southeastern Netherlands with a population of 17,171 as of 2021 and has an area of 101.78 km2 (39.30 sq mi) of which 1.80 km2 (0.69 sq mi) is water. Nederweert lies at the intersection of three channels: the Zuid-Willemsvaart, the Noordervaart and the Wessem-Nederweert Canal. In the 19th century these channels provided transport routes to export peat that was harvested from the Peel. These channels connect Nederweert to Maastricht and 's-Hertogenbosch.

De Groote Peel National Park is a national park in the De Peel, a region in the southeast of the Netherlands on the border between the provinces of Limburg and North Brabant. It has a size of 13.4 km² and preserves a peat bog that has remained partly untouched by peat cutting, which used to be extensive in the area. It is one of the most bird-rich areas in Western Europe, with resident black-necked grebes and sometimes migrating common cranes in October/November. The terrain is varied with inaccessible peat swamps, lakes, heath land and sand ridges. The present swamp and some of the lakes were created by the cutting of peat. There is a 3 km-long route guided by red poles with a tower that provides visitors with a view of the wasteland. Care must be taken if leaving the assigned route. The swamps can be treacherous.

Swartbroek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsʋɑrdbruk]; Limburgish: Zwertbrook [ˈzwe̞ʀdbʀoːk]) is a village in the Netherlands, in the municipality of Weert in the province of Limburg. The village was first mentioned in the 16th century as Swartbroeck, and means "black swampy land". Swartbroek was home to 276 people in 1840. In 1925, the St Cornelius Church was built. The grist mill De Hoop was built in 1905 using material from a 1788 wind mill. Between 2011 and 2015, it was restored and still in active service.

Nederweerterdijk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Peel en Maas, about 3 km west of the center of that village.Nederweerterdijk has no place sign names and consists of about 25 houses.

Someren-Eind is a small town, located in the southeast of North Brabant, Netherlands. It is a part of the gemeente Someren, counting 3510 residents by 2007. Someren-Eind is located near the Zuid-Willemsvaart, a canal that connects 's-Hertogenbosch and Maastricht. Someren-Eind is also known under the name D'end.

Ell (Limburgish: Èl) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a part of the municipality of Leudal and lies about 7 km southeast of Weert.

Heusden also known as Asten-Heusden (or Heuze among locals) is a small village in North Brabant in the Netherlands. It is in the so-called Peel region. It was first mentioned in 1794 as Heusden. The etymology is unclear.Heusden has a small village square with a few bars, a church, a grocery store, and a youth center. The village is only a couple kilometres from Asten which is much larger and the centre of activity for most residents of Heusden. Heusden also has the romantic remains of an old castle that dates from the fifteenth century. Attached to the ruins, a seventeenth-century v-shape farmstead is still in place.

Berg is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Peel en Maas, about 2 km west of the center of that village. Berg has no place name signs and consists of about 40 houses.

Bretelli is a restaurant in Weert in the Netherlands. It is a quality restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in 2007 and retained that rating until present. In the period 2002-2006 the restaurant held a Bib Gourmand. In 2013, GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points. From the beginning, Jan Marrees has been the head chef of Bretelli. Since 2010, he is also the owner of the restaurant. Although the name of the restaurant suggest an Italian connection, the restaurant is named after a set of braces or suspenders (bretels in Dutch).

Laar (Limburgish: Laor) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Weert, just 2 km north of the town of Weert itself.The village was first mentioned in 1790 as Laer, and means "forest meadow".The grist mill Sint Antonius was built in 1903. It was restored after a storm in 1954. In 1970, it went out of service. It was restored between 1985 and 1987, but abandoned the next year. Between 2013 and 2014, it was restored again.

Weert is a railway station in Weert, Netherlands. The station is on the Eindhoven–Weert railway, Weert–Roermond railway and the Iron Rhine (Antwerp - Mönchengladbach). It was opened in 1879, the current building was built in 1913 and was declared national monument. The train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.
