Manila Christian Computer Institute for the Deaf (MCCID) is a non-sectarian, post-secondary, Christian foundation school for the deaf in the Philippines authorized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to offer non-degree computer and other technical training programs. It is also the only institute in the Philippines authorized by the government through TESDA to offer sign language and interpreting programs as well as courses for the deaf. Manila Christian Computer Institute for the Deaf Foundation, Inc. was incorporated on September 9, 1993, by the Securities and Exchange Commission (Philippines) (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit foundation. It was through the idea of two young Christian computer professionals, one hearing and one deaf, that they decided to establish an educational institution that focuses on improving the computer skills of the deaf. On November 4, 2008, MCCID became MCCID College of Technology, Inc.

Marikina Heights is one of the barangays of Marikina measuring some 184.16 hectares. Once a privately owned hacienda, it is now populated by 35,416 people according to the 2010 National Census.

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (simply known as PLMar) is the first city government-funded university in Marikina, Philippines. It was established by Ordinance No. 015 Series of 2003. The effort was spearheaded by Mayor Marides C. Fernando Enrollment in 2003 was 1,424 students and has successively increased; the 2012-2016 enrollment is 12,051. PLMar surpasses the national rate of graduates who pass the Professional Regulation Commission National Board Examinations for Nurses, Teachers and Criminologist.

SM City San Mateo is a shopping mall owned by the largest mall developer in the Philippines, SM Prime Holdings. It is located along Gen. Luna Avenue, Brgy. Ampid 1, San Mateo, Rizal. This first major mall of San Mateo opens on May 15, 2015, being the fourth SM Supermall in Rizal Province after SM City Taytay, SM City Masinag and SM Center Angono, and the 52nd SM Supermall in the country. The mall is designed by JRP Design Inc., a local architectural design firm in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa and DSGN associates, a firm based in Dallas, Texas, United States, which also designed SM City Marikina. The mall has a gross floor area (GFA) of 80,043 m2 (861,580 sq ft) situated on 22,882 m2 (246,300 sq ft) of land.

Antipolo station is a railway station. It sits on Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2 located in Antipolo, Rizal. It opened on July 5, 2021 and is the line's easternmost station, located on the stretch of Marikina–Infanta Highway near the intersection of Sumulong Highway. It is the first Manila LRT System station outside Metro Manila to be operational. The station is the eastern terminus of the line and is the first and last station for trains headed to and from Recto station.

San Mateo, officially the Municipality of San Mateo (Tagalog: Bayan ng San Mateo), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 273,306. It is bordered by Quezon City to the west, Marikina and Antipolo to the south, and by the Municipality of Rodriguez to the north. San Mateo is approximately 24 kilometers (15 mi) east of Manila and 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) north of Antipolo, the provincial capital of Rizal. Conurbated to the urban agglomeration of the Greater Manila Area, San Mateo is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Rizal Province, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Provincial Government of Rizal. It is a commuter hub to Metro Manila. San Mateo is the home of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Aranzazu (Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu).

The Sumulong Highway, constructed in 1960, is the highway in the Philippines that connects Marikina with Antipolo and the municipality of Cainta in the province of Rizal. It was named after Don Juan Sumulong, a former President of the Democrata Party. Since 2014, with the implementation of the new route numbering system by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), it is a component of National Route 59 (N59) of the highway in the Philippine highway network from its intersection with Marcos Highway at Masinag Junction to Sen. L. Sumulong Memorial Circle, the road's endpoint at the city proper, both in Antipolo. Near the boundary of Antipolo with Marikina, the highway meets the Marcos Highway (Marikina-Infanta Highway) in the Masinag Junction. (Marikina-Infanta Highway was the highway that connects Metro Manila with the northern towns of Infanta and General Nakar in the province of Quezon). It is sometimes referred in media as the "killer highway" due to the number of accidents that have taken place on it, most especially the area from Sitio Maligaya to Mambugan Barangay Hall.

The Marikina North Sewage Treatment Plant is a sewage treatment plant in Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines. Managed by Manila Water, the facility is the largest sewage treatment plant in the Philippines processing 100 million liters (26,000,000 U.S. gal) of used water daily.It is situated in the Balubad Resettlement Area in Barangay Nangka in Marikina. Aside from Marikina, the sewage treatment plant also covers the town of San Mateo in Rizal and other nearby areas. It is built on a 2 hectares (4.9 acres) land with an elevation of 26.5 meters (87 ft) above ground as measure against flooding. The facility discharges treated water to the Marikina River. The treatment plant makes use of the Sequence Batch Reactor biological treatment process.The Marikina North Sewage Treatment Plant was inaugurated on November 24, 2016.

According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 456,059 people. It is located along the eastern border of Metro Manila, Marikina is the main gateway of Metro Manila to Rizal and Quezon provinces through Marikina–Infanta Highway. It is bordered on the west by Quezon City, to the south by Pasig and Cainta, to the north by San Mateo, and to the east by Antipolo, the capital of Rizal province. It is founded by the Jesuits on the fertile Marikina Valley in 1630, Marikina was the provincial capital of the Province of Manila under the First Philippine Republic from 1898 to 1899 during the Philippine Revolution. Following the onset of American occupation it was then organized as a municipality of Rizal Province, prior to the formation of Metro Manila in 1975. A formerly rural settlement, Marikina is now primarily residential and industrial and has become increasingly commercial in recent years. The City of Marikina is considered one of the wealthiest local government units in the Philippines.Marikina is known as the "Shoe Capital of the Philippines" for its famous shoe industry. It is the biggest manufacturer of shoes in the Philippines, producing almost 70% of shoes made in the country. Located in the city are the Philippine International Footwear Center and the Shoe Museum, housing the infamous shoe collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos, wife of the late Filipino President, dictator, and kleptocrat Ferdinand Marcos.The city is under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo. It contains the Our Lady of the Abandoned Church, the oldest in the Marikina Valley built in 1572.

The Batasan–San Mateo Road, also known as the IBP–San Mateo Road and formerly as the Constitutional Road, is a four-lane east–west highway connecting Quezon City and San Mateo, Rizal in the Philippines. The road begins at the intersection with the Batasan Road in Batasan Hills, Quezon City adjacent to the Batasang Pambansa complex. It passes through the areas of Filinvest II Subdivision which also includes Northview I and II, the former site of Batasan Hills Elementary School, San Antonio de Padua Church, a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a branch of Puregold Jr. adjacent to the temple, Sunnyside Hills Subdivision, the Batasan-San Mateo Bridge crossing the Marikina River, Felicidad Village in San Mateo and ends at the intersection with Gen. Luna Avenue where Puregold San Mateo is located and then continues through San Mateo town proper to the left and Marikina to the right.

Blue Wave-Marikina, also known as Blue Wave at Marquinton, is a mall and office complex in Marikina, Philippines developed by Federal Land, Inc. It sits on a 2 hectares (4.9 acres) site just off the Sumulong Highway, at the northwest corner of the intersection with Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue.

Santa Elena is a barangay of Marikina, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 6,954 people. Bordered by San Roque and Jesus Dela Peña, Sta. Elena is said to be one of the first towns established by the Augustinians in what was known as the Marikina Valley and home for the heritage sites such as the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish and the Kapitan Moy Residence.
