Milton House (Milton, Wisconsin)

Milton College was a private college located in Milton, Wisconsin. Founded in 1844 as the Milton Academy, it closed in 1982. Its campus is now part of the Milton Historic District.

The unincorporated communities of Charlie Bluff, Coopers Shores, Mallwood, and Maple Beach are located in the town. The unincorporated communities of Koshkonong and Newville are also partially in the town.

The Milton Public Library is located in Milton, Wisconsin. It is one of the seven libraries that make up the Arrowhead Library System, which also includes the libraries of Janesville, Edgerton, Clinton, Evansville, Beloit, and Orfordville. The library occupies the first floor of the Shaw Municipal Building. The mission of the Milton Public Library is to provide quality materials and services which fulfill educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike. The library also contains a MakerSpace called The SPARK.

The Abram Allen House is a historic house with walls of grout, built about 1853 in Milton, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Woodman's Sports & Convention Center (commonly known as the Woodman's Center) is an 140,000-square foot indoor arena under construction in Janesville, Wisconsin. Currently scheduled to open in 2025, the Woodman's Center is set to include a 1,500 seat permanent ice arena to be the new home of the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League, a 250-seat multi-purpose arena and the 25,800-square foot Robert and Delores Kennedy Conference Center. Naming rights were purchased by Janesville-based supermarket chain Woodman's Markets, in a 20-year deal that activates in July of 2025.

Lake Koshkonong is a naturally occurring lake that acts as a reservoir in southern Wisconsin. Its size was augmented by the creation of the Indianford Dam in 1932, making it one of the larger lakes in the state. The lake lies along the Rock River, with the river acting as both the primary inflow and the primary outflow for the lake. Lake Koshkonong begins 5.5 mi (8.9 km) downriver from Fort Atkinson, with the large majority of the lake located in southwestern Jefferson County. Small portions of the lake extend into southeastern Dane and northern Rock counties. After the creation of the Indianford Dam, which was built several miles down the Rock River from Lake Koshkonong, the lake has had a surface area measuring 10,460 acres (42.3 km2). It remains very shallow with an average depth of six feet (1.8 meters) and a maximum depth of seven feet (2.1 meters). The dam itself measures 13 feet (4.0 meters) high and with a length of 500 ft (150 m) at its crest. Maximum capacity of the reservoir is 107,000 acre⋅ft (132,000,000 m3). Both dam and reservoir are owned and operated by Rock County.

Koshkonong Mounds is an unincorporated community located in the town of Koshkonong, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, United States. It was named for the prehistoric earthwork mounds built by an early indigenous people in the area. They were likely related to the Mississippian culture, which established settlements and constructed mounds from 1000-1500 CE throughout the areas of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Archeological artifacts found in the settlements show widespread trading from settlements in the Great Lakes to present-day Illinois and the center of Cahokia, to other settlements in the present-day southeastern United States.
