Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée (before September 2017: Communauté d'agglomération du Bassin de Thau) is an intercommunal government structure, in the Hérault département of the Occitanie région, in France. Its seat is in Frontignan. Its area is 310.3 km2. Its population was 125,325 in 2018, of which 43,686 in Sète and 22,731 in Frontignan. The Communauté d'agglomération du Bassin de Thau was established in December 2002. The former Communauté de communes du Nord du Bassin de Thau was merged into it in January 2017, and its name was changed to Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée in September 2017.

Balaruc-les-Bains (French pronunciation: [balaʁyk le bɛ̃]; Occitan: Los Banhs de Balaruc) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France.

Balaruc-le-Vieux (French pronunciation: [balaʁyk lə vjø]; Occitan: Balaruc Vièlh) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France.

Stade Louis-Michel is a multi-purpose stadium in Sète, France. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of FC Sète 34. The stadium is able to hold 8,500 people.

The Stade Georges-Bayrou is a football stadium located in Sète, France. It was the home of FC Sète 34 before the inauguration of the Stade Louis-Michel in 1990. It was named after Georges Bayrou, former president of FC Sète. However, the ground is still used by the club for training. Amateur club Pointe-Courte AC Sète is now a tenant of the stadium.

Poussan (French pronunciation: [pusɑ̃]; Occitan: Poçan) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France.

Loupian (French pronunciation: [lupjɑ̃]; Occitan: Lopian) is a commune in the Hérault département in southern France.

Loupian Roman villa is in the village of Loupian in the Hérault département of France, between Montpellier and Béziers, the heart of Gallia Narbonensis. Excavations on a three-hectare site south of the village have revealed remains of a Roman farm villa with extensive 2nd-century Gallo-Roman mosaics. The site was occupied for more than 600 years. Originally a modest farmstead built a few kilometres south of the Via Domitia, on the hillside overlooking the Bassin de Thau, it rapidly prospered and grew. During the early Empire, in the 1st and 2nd centuries, the villa was a large patrician residence with thermal springs. The main agricultural activity was viticulture, for which a storehouse capable of holding 1,500 hl of wine was constructed. This period also saw the building of a small port on the northern shore of the Bassin de Thau, as well as pottery workshops producing amphorae for the transportation of wine. In the 5th century, the villa was completely rebuilt and the owner's home turned into a small mansion. The thirteen ground floor rooms are covered in multicoloured, highly decorated mosaics. The potteries by now were producing not just amphorae but also household pottery.

Sète station (French: Gare de Sète) is the railway station serving the town of Sète in the Hérault département of southern France. It is the eastern terminus of the Bordeaux–Sète railway.

The Étang de Thau (French pronunciation: [etɑ̃ də to]; Occitan: Estanh de Taur) or Bassin de Thau is the largest of a string of lagoons (étangs) that stretch along the French coast from the Rhône river to the foothills of the Pyrenees and the border to Spain in the Languedoc-Roussillon. Although it has a high salinity, it is considered the second largest lake in France.

The Canal de Beaucaire was a canal in southern France. It is now part of the Canal du Rhône à Sète along with the Canal des Ètangs. The originator was to be the Marshal de Noailles. However he did nothing and his concession was revoked. It was then granted to a company formed by Marshal de Richelieu, but again, nothing was accomplished until the state of Languedoc took over. Construction was finally begun in 1777 and completed in 1808. It was to connect the city of Aigues-Mortes to the Rhone.

The Canal du Rhône à Sète (French pronunciation: [kanal dy ʁon a sɛt]; lit. "canal from the Rhône to Sète") is a canal in southern France, which connects the Étang de Thau in Sète to the Rhône River in Beaucaire, Gard. The canal is made up of two previously constructed canals, the Canal des Étangs and Canal de Beaucaire. It connects with the Canal du Midi through the Étang de Thau. There is, however, no access to the Rhône at Beaucaire as the lock has been closed since the Vallebregues barrage was built. The possibility of re-establishing the link "is being studied, but there is no prospect for the immediate future". Access to the Rhône is instead via the lock situated to the west of Saint-Gilles which links the canal to the Petit Rhône and from there northeastwards to the junction with the Grand Rhône at Fourques situated to the north of Arles. Apart from the lock at Saint-Gilles there is only one other operating lock on the canal between St Gilles and Beaucaire. The canal is almost totally situated at sea level and the western part from the Vidourle river to the Étang de Thau is a sea-water canal. In recent years major work has been undertaken to upgrade the canal so it can now be used by 1200t convoys instead of the previous 350t barges. Most notable are a stretch of canal bypassing the town of Aigues-Mortes with its railway swing bridge and a direct canal link to the port of Sète eliminating the passage of lifting and swing bridges in Frontignan and Sète.
