Burke Bay (Washington)

Brownsville is an unincorporated community in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. It is located north of Bremerton and due east of Silverdale and on the north side of Burke Bay on the Kitsap Peninsula. Brownsville has a quiet and fairly remote harbor and marina. The community is primarily residential, but it has a locally famous deli, a convenience store called the Daily Stop, a meat market, and a kayak rental shop.

The Manette Peninsula is a headland that is part of the larger Kitsap Peninsula, located on the eastern flank of the Kitsap Peninsula, in western Washington, United States.

Battle Point is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, located on the western side of the island. The northern part of the neighborhood extends to Arrow Point. Battle Point also contains the communities of Tolo and Venice. The large Battle Point Park is in this neighborhood. It includes the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory, the John H. Rudolph Planetarium, the Battle Point Astronomical Association sundial, sports fields, gardens, horse corral, play structure, and other features. Battle Point is named for a battle in which the local Suquamish tribe under chief Kitsap fought off a band of marauders from the north. Arrow Point, forming the western shore of Manzanita Bay, is named for its sharply pointed shape.

Port Orchard, part of Washington state's Puget Sound, is the strait that separates Bainbridge Island on the east from the Kitsap Peninsula on the west. It extends from Liberty Bay and Agate Pass in the north to Sinclair Inlet and Rich Passage in the south. It was named in May 1792 by George Vancouver after Harry Masterman Orchard, ship's clerk of Vancouver's ship Discovery.

Kitsap County is located in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, its population was 275,611. Its county seat is Port Orchard; its largest city is Bremerton. The county, formed out of King County and Jefferson County on January 16, 1857, is named for Chief Kitsap of the Suquamish Tribe. Originally named Slaughter County, it was soon renamed.Kitsap County comprises the Bremerton-Silverdale, WA Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Seattle-Tacoma, WA Combined Statistical Area. Kitsap County is connected to the eastern shore of Puget Sound by Washington State Ferries routes, including the Seattle-Bremerton Ferry, Southworth to West Seattle via Vashon Island, Bainbridge Island to Downtown Seattle, and from Kingston to Edmonds, Washington. Kitsap Transit provides passenger-only fast ferry service between Bremerton and Seattle, Kingston and Seattle, and Southworth and Seattle.

Illahee is an unincorporated community in Kitsap County, Washington, United States, between Bremerton and Silverdale. It is home to Illahee State Park and other local parks. The word "Illahee" means earth or country in the Native language Chinuk Wawa.

Keyport is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. Situated at the eastern terminus of State Route 308 on the Kitsap Peninsula, Keyport is known for its small population and charming coastal setting. According to the 2010 census, the Keyport CDP had a total population of 554 residents.The community of Keyport was named after Keyport, New Jersey, in 1896. Its nickname is "Torpedo Town USA". Situated on a small peninsula jutting into Liberty Bay near Poulsbo, it is the home of a small United States Navy depot tasked with ranging and repairing torpedoes for the US Navy and allies. Keyport Bible Church, which was established in the early 1900s and incorporated in 1926, stands as the sole church in Keyport. The church's building was dedicated on May 2, 1937, and has since undergone expansions, including the addition of classrooms and a multipurpose building.

Gene Lobe Field at Kitsap County Fairgrounds and Event Center is 1 of 4 ballparks at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and Event Center. It has played host to the Kitsap BlueJackets of the West Coast League. The BlueJackets have not had a winning season since 2007.On July 26, 2013, Spenser Watkins threw a perfect game against the Victoria HarbourCats in front of 413 fans cheering him on to a 2–0 win.

KITZ (1400 AM "Megatalk 920 and 1400") is a commercial radio station featuring a talk radio format, simulcast with KGTK (920 AM) in Olympia. Licensed to Silverdale, Washington, KITZ serves the Puget Sound Region, including Seattle and Tacoma. KITZ Radio, Inc. is owned by two gun-rights groups: the Second Amendment Foundation and its affiliate, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Its main studio and production facilities are on Mile High Drive in Port Orchard. By day, KITZ is powered at 1,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. At night, there is a slight reduction of power to 890 watts. The transmitter is on Tibardis Road NW in Silverdale.

Tracyton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. Its population was 5,233 at the 2010 census. It was named for 19th century Secretary of the Navy Benjamin F. Tracy.

Olympic High School is a secondary school located in Bremerton, Washington, United States. It is one of six secondary schools in the Central Kitsap School District. OHS educates grades 9–12. Course offerings include several Advanced Placement courses, a college in the High School program in partnership with Central Washington University, and an advanced Career and Technical Education program called Project Lead the Way. The school also offers students programs in vocal and instrumental music, and Sports medicine. In 2017, community support allowed the school to begin a major modernization project. The center of the building will be demolished. A two-story building will be constructed in its place. The addition will include career and technical classrooms, an updated library, an auditorium and commons areas. The project will not be complete by fall 2018. The school's main gym is also the home venue for the Kitsap Admirals of the American Basketball Association and International Basketball League.
