Copilco metro station

Copilco was an important Mesoamerican ceremonial center, southwest of Mexico City, Mexico. Copilco is located approximately four kilometers north of Cuicuilco. Both were covered by lava from several eruptions of the Xitle volcano three thousand years ago. It is very likely that founding, development and destiny of both cities had common causes, from their geographical location, and chronology. The area is located on the west side of Coyoacán or Coyohuacán (Nahuatl: coyō-hua-cān, 'place of coyotes') in the area covered by the lava from the Xitle volcano (according to Chronicles, one eruption of the volcano occurred on April 24, 76).

UNAM's School of Medicine (Spanish: Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM) is the medical school of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), located at the university's main campus of Ciudad Universitaria. Established in 1553 as part of the Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico, it is one of the oldest medical schools in the Americas. The school has undergraduate and graduate studies departments. It does joint teaching with some other schools, e.g., the School of Science. It also has many grants involving UNAM's Engineering School, in areas such as smart and connected health. It is one of the most recognized schools in the university and in Mexico. The latest three rectors of the university, including the current one, are former deans from this school.

The School of Chemistry is one of the 27 academic institutions that are part of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Ciudad Universitaria (University City), Mexico, is the main campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), located in Coyoacán borough in the southern part of Mexico City. Designed by architects Mario Pani and Enrique del Moral, it encloses the Olympic Stadium, about 40 faculties and institutes, the Cultural Center, an ecological reserve, the Central Library, and a few museums. It was built during the 1950s on an ancient solidified lava bed in Coyoacán called "El Pedregal" to replace the scattered buildings in downtown Mexico City where classes were given. It was completed in 1954 at a cost of approximately $25 million. At the time of its completion it was the largest single construction project in Mexico since the Aztecs. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2007.Although the University has other buildings in Mexico City (mostly for undergraduate studies and cultural purposes), in other Mexican states and in other countries (such as Canada and the United States), Ciudad Universitaria, known simply as "C.U.", is the prime symbol of the University.

The School of Engineering (Spanish: Facultad de Ingeniería) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is the most prestigious engineering school in Latin America and one of the top engineering schools worldwide. At the undergraduate level, it offers thirteen majors and some graduate programs. In fall 2008, the school of engineering had over 10,900 undergraduate students and 1,115 graduate students and postdocs.The studies on Chemistry, as for chemical engineering, are offered by UNAM's own School of Chemistry.

The University City Swimming Pool is located on the Ciudad Universitaria campus of UNAM in Mexico City. For the 1968 Summer Olympics, it hosted some of the water polo competitions.

The Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (School of Philosophy and Literature) or FFyL of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) administers eleven divisions of the humanities offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Department is one of the largest, and most renowned, literature faculties in the Spanish-speaking world; the Alma Mater of Nobel Prize laureate Octavio Paz and a number of other important figures in Latin American literature.

Central Library of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is the main library in the Ciudad Universitaria Campus. It holds one of the largest collections in Mexico. It has a multidisciplinary approach for all the university courses from the adjacent faculties. The building is covered with the mural Historical Representation of Culture, created by the Mexican artist Juan O'Gorman. His unique masterpiece has become the most iconic building from the UNAM and from Mexican culture. In July 2007, the UNESCO proclaimed the Central Library, along with the Central Campus of the University City, as World Heritage. The Central Library hosts some of the administrative offices of the General Libraries Directorate of the UNAM. The library opened to users on April 5, 1956. After 25 years, it underwent its first remodel (1981–1983), changing from a closed to open shelves.

Miguel Ángel de Quevedo (also spelt M. A. de Quevedo) is a station along Line 3 of the Mexico City Metro. It is located in Mexico City's southern Coyoacán borough, at the junction of Avenida Miguel Ángel de Quevedo and Avenida Universidad.

The Faculty of Sciences (Spanish: Facultad de Ciencias) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is the entity where natural and exact science-based majors are taught. It has both undergraduate and graduate studies, some of the former in joint teaching with other faculties, most commonly the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty of Sciences is the most important science school in the country by the number of students and the quality of its research. Together with the research institutes that surround it, it is considered one of the biggest research complexes of the UNAM.

Universidad (also frequently called Metro C.U., from Ciudad Universitaria) is a station on the Mexico City Metro. It is located in the southern reaches of Mexico City, in Coyoacán borough. A surface station, it is the current terminus of Line 3. The station was opened on 30 August 1983. In 2021, the station had an average ridership of 25,858 passengers per day, making it the fifteenth busiest station in the network.

The School of Architecture at UNAM is one of the leading schools of architecture and design in Mexico. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism and industrial design.
