Little Orme

The Little Ormes Head Quarry tramway was a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge industrial railway operating at three levels within the extensive limestone quarry on the Penrhyn Bay side of the Little Orme at Llandudno on the North Wales coast.

Ysgol Glanwydden is a Welsh Primary school in Glanwydden, near Llandudno, for 3-11 year olds. The school celebrated its hundred-year anniversary in 2010, with the building being completed in 1910 and opening to students in spring 1911. In October 2010 the school had 274 pupils.

Ysgol y Creuddyn (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈəskɔl ə ˈkrɛɨðɨn]) is a Welsh-medium secondary school, situated in Penrhyn Bay outside Llandudno, Wales, named after the Creuddyn peninsula. The school was founded on Wednesday, the 2nd of September 1981 with 218 students, and is now home to over 600 students. Students are bilingual, with all subjects taught in the Welsh language (apart from English and French lessons) up to GCSE level. The school is the predominant Welsh language school in the area, and it serves pupils from a wide area including Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Betws yn Rhos, Conwy, Llandudno, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Eglwysbach. The school teaches children from the ages of 11 to 18, and is well known for students attaining successful grades at GCSE and A-level.

Penrhyn Bay (Welsh: Bae Penrhyn "headland bay") is a small town on the northern coast of Wales, in Conwy county borough, within the parish or community of Llandudno, and part of the ecclesiastical parish of Llanrhos. It is a prosperous village, with a cluster of local shops, a pub, a parish church and a modern medical centre with doctors' surgery at the foot of the pass over the shoulder of the Little Orme from Llandudno Bay. Here there is a highschool called Ysgol y Creuddyn and a primary school called Ysgol Glanwydden. It is considered to be a residential suburb of Llandudno lying east of the Little Orme. It adjoins the resort of Rhos-on-Sea and covers a large part of the Creuddyn peninsula. The population of Penrhyn Ward at the 2011 census was 4,883.

Coleg Llandrillo (English meaning: Llandrillo College) is a college in the north of Wales. After its merger in 2012, Grwp Llandrillo Menai became Wales' largest further education institution.

St David's College is a private, boarding and day, middle and high school occupying Gloddaeth Hall in Llanrhos, Llandudno, north Wales. The school was founded by John Mayor in 1965 with the aim of offering a whole-person education based on Christian principles and outdoor education. The school also supports children and young adults with learning difficulties and has a whole-school approach to dyslexia with emphasis on developing individual talents.

Gloddaeth Hall originated as a large country house in Llandudno, Caernarfonshire (now Conwy), Wales. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building. It stands on land which had been owned by the Mostyn family since the 15th century. The core of the building is a 16th-century hall and two storey solar block, built of stone rubble with freestone dressings. There are gabled stone slate roofs. The hall is open to the hammer beam roof. The lower room of the solar has 16th century panelling, the upper room has a 17th century panelling. A wing to the east was added around 1700.In the 19th century, further additions were made to the building by William Nesfield, and John Douglas, who designed a new west wing for Augusta, Lady Mostyn in 1889.A 17th century dovecote remains. Some elements of the formal gardens to the south-east may also be 17th century. The gardens are designated Grade I on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.The hall now forms part of St David's College, a mixed sex independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 9–19. Tennis player Angela Buxton attended the school.

The Creuddyn Peninsula (Welsh: Y Creuddyn) is a small peninsula in Conwy County Borough in Wales. It includes Llandudno, Rhos-on-Sea, Deganwy, Penrhyn Bay and Llandudno Junction. The combined population of the peninsula is 38,952. It is bordered roughly by the Irish Sea, the River Conwy, Conwy Bay and the A55 expressway. The Great Orme lies at the end of the peninsula, and nearby is the Little Orme. There are several limestone hills of around 100 metres in height, including Bryn Euryn, Bryn Pydew, Mynydd Pant, Coed Gaer, Bryniau, and Deganwy Castle. The Great Orme reaches 207 metres, and the Little Orme 141 metres. The area is usually called simply Y Creuddyn, being the Welsh name of the medieval commote (an administrative unit within a cantref) roughly corresponding to the peninsula itself, though somewhat larger.The Welsh-medium secondary school Ysgol y Creuddyn is situated on the peninsula.

Llangystennin (sometimes spelt Llangwstennin) is a rural parish to the south-east of Llandudno and Llanrhos in Conwy County Borough, north Wales. Llangystennin includes Llangwstennin Hall, the villages of Mochdre, Pabo and Bryn Pydew and the small town of Llandudno Junction. The parish takes its name from St. Cystennin (Constantine) who is said to be a son of St. Helen of Caernarfon (Elen Luyddog) together with whom and with his brother St. Peblig he is credited with introducing into Wales in the 5th century the Celtic form of monasticism from Gaul.

Craig-y-Don is a suburb of Llandudno, a coastal seaside resort in Conwy county borough, north Wales. It is also an electoral ward to Conwy County Borough Council and Llandudno Town Council. It is also part of the parish of Llanrhos.

Bryn Pydew is a small settlement to the east of Llandudno Junction in North Wales. The limestone hill of Bryn Pydew reaches 128 metres (420 feet) above sea level. The population is around 451 people. Bodysgallen Hall is nearby. Bryn Pydew is home to one of the 36 sites of the North Wales Wildlife Trust, in addition to the nearby Marl Hall Woods.
