Engi, Switzerland

Matt is a village, and former municipality, in the municipality of Glarus Süd and canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Matt lies in the valley of the Sernf river, and consists of the village of Matt itself, and the mountain hamlet of Weissenberge.

The Sernftal or Kleintal is an alpine valley within Glarus Süd, in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland. It is formed by the Sernf, a right tributary of the Linth. Situated in the Sernftal are the villages of Elm (977 m) and Engi (812 m). The Panix Pass at 2407 m connects the Sernftal with the anterior Rhine valley in Grisons.

Berglimattsee is a lake in the protected area Freiberg Kärpf on municipal territory of Glarus Süd in the Swiss canton of Glarus. The lake lies at 2,157 m (7,077 ft) on a small plateau near the Gandfurggele, a col between the Garichtisee in the upper Niderental in the west and the Berglialp and the Sernftal in the east. To the north are the two peaks of the Gandstock, to the south the Charenstock. The lake's outflow is a tributary of the Niderenbach, which flows further into the Sernf.

The Gufelstock is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, overlooking Schwanden in the canton of Glarus. The border with the canton of St. Gallen runs on the northern base of the mountain.

Chüebodensee is a lake above Elm in the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland. Its surface area is 1.4 ha. There are about 8 km of well established trails around the lake. The lake is within the Glarner Freiberg wildlife preserve. The lake can be reached from Elm by taking the Elm-Ämpächli gondola to Ämpächlialp and hiking over well marked trails. The trip from Ämpächlialp to the lake and back will generally take about 4 hours.

The Bützistock is a mountain of the Glarus Alps. It lies on the border between the cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen in Eastern Switzerland. The top is 2,496 m (8,189 ft) above sea level or 513 meters above the surrounding terrain. The width at the base is 18 km. The terrain around Bützistock is mainly mountainous, but the nearest surrounding area is hilly. The highest point nearby is Piz Sardona, 3,056 meters (roughly 10,026 ft) above sea level, 13 km (roughly 8.1 miles) south of Bützistock. The closest locality is Engi on the southern side.The area around Bützistock consists mainly of grassland. Around Bützistock, it is quite sparsely populated, with 38 inhabitants per square kilometer. Tundra climate prevails in the area. The annual average temperature in the area is -1 °C (30.2 °F). The warmest month is July, when the average temperature is 10 °C (50 °F), and the coldest is January, with -12 °C (10.4 °F). The average annual precipitation for the area is 1,929 mm (roughly 76 in). The rainiest month is November, with an average rainfall of 246 mm (roughly 9.7 in), and the driest is March, with 78 mm (roughly 3.1 in).

The Gulderstock is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located north of Matt in the canton of Glarus. It lies south of the Magerrain, on the range between the valleys of Mülibach and Chrauchtal.

Oberer Murgsee (or "Ober Murgsee") is a lake in the Murg valley (Murgtal), in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It is the highest of the three Murgseen. The lake is drained by the Murgbach which empties into Lake Walen at Murg (municipality of Quarten).

Garichtisee is a reservoir on Mettmenalp above Schwanden in the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland. The lake's surface area is 16 ha (40 acres).

Murgseen are a group of lakes in Murgtal (Murg valley) in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. The three lakes are drained by the Murgbach river, which empties into Lake Walen at Murg in the municipality of Quarten. The three lakes are: Oberer Murgsee (or "Ober Murgsee", Upper lake) at an elevation of 1820 m; the largest, with a surface area of 20 ha Mittlerer Murgsee (or "Mittlerer Murgsee") at 1808 m Unterer Murgsee (or "Unter Murgsee", Lower lake) at 1682 m

The Blistock (also spelled Blistögg) is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, overlooking Elm in the canton of Glarus. It lies on the range between the small valley of the Garichtisee and the Sernftal, north of the Kärpf. It is composed of three summits: the Vorder Blistock (2,405 m), the Mittler Blistock (2,448 m) and the Hinter Blistock (2,446 m).

The Gandstock (2,315 m) is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located south-east of Schwanden in the canton of Glarus. It lies at the northern end of the range separating the main Linth valley from the Sernftal, north of the Kärpf. On its west side is located the Garichtisee.
