Gulderstock

Matt is a village, and former municipality, in the municipality of Glarus Süd and canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Matt lies in the valley of the Sernf river, and consists of the village of Matt itself, and the mountain hamlet of Weissenberge.

The Magerrain is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen in Eastern Switzerland. Reaching an elevation of 2,524 metres above sea level, the Magerrain is the highest summit of the range north of the Walabützer Furggle (2,167 m) and the Risitenpass (2,189 m). The closest locality is Engi on the south side.

The Bützistock is a mountain of the Glarus Alps. It lies on the border between the cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen in Eastern Switzerland. The top is 2,496 m (8,189 ft) above sea level or 513 meters above the surrounding terrain. The width at the base is 18 km. The terrain around Bützistock is mainly mountainous, but the nearest surrounding area is hilly. The highest point nearby is Piz Sardona, 3,056 meters (roughly 10,026 ft) above sea level, 13 km (roughly 8.1 miles) south of Bützistock. The closest locality is Engi on the southern side.The area around Bützistock consists mainly of grassland. Around Bützistock, it is quite sparsely populated, with 38 inhabitants per square kilometer. Tundra climate prevails in the area. The annual average temperature in the area is -1 °C (30.2 °F). The warmest month is July, when the average temperature is 10 °C (50 °F), and the coldest is January, with -12 °C (10.4 °F). The average annual precipitation for the area is 1,929 mm (roughly 76 in). The rainiest month is November, with an average rainfall of 246 mm (roughly 9.7 in), and the driest is March, with 78 mm (roughly 3.1 in).

The Sernftal or Kleintal is an alpine valley within Glarus Süd, in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland. It is formed by the Sernf, a right tributary of the Linth. Situated in the Sernftal are the villages of Elm (977 m) and Engi (812 m). The Panix Pass at 2407 m connects the Sernftal with the anterior Rhine valley in Grisons.

The Spitzmeilen is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, lying on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. It lies between the valleys of Schilstal and Sernftal.

The Riseten Pass (German: Risetenpass) is a mountain pass of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of St. Gallen and Glarus, at an elevation of 2,189 m (7,182 ft). It crosses the col between the peaks of the Wissgandstöckli and Foostock.The pass is traversed by a trail, which connects the village of Weisstannen, in the canton of St. Gallen at an elevation of 1,004 m (3,294 ft), with the valley of the Krauch stream and thence with the village of Matt, in the canton of Glarus at an elevation of 831 m (2,726 ft).

The Wissgandstöckli is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. It lies approximately halfway between Matt and Weisstannen.The Riseten Pass lies to the south of the Wissgandstöckli, and carries a hiking trail between Weisstannen, in the canton of St. Gallen, and Matt, in the canton of Glarus.

The Foostock, also known as the Ruchen, is a mountain of the Glarus Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. It lies north of Piz Sardona, on the range that separates the Sernftal from the Weisstannental.The Foostock lies between two passes that carry hiking trails between the cantons of St. Gallen and Glarus. The Foo Pass lies to the south of the Foostock and carries a trail from Weisstannen in St. Gallen to Elm in Glarus, forming part of the Alpine Pass Route between Sargans to Montreux. The less well known Riseten Pass lies to the north of the Foostock and links Weisstannen with Matt in Glarus.

Murgseen are a group of lakes in Murgtal (Murg valley) in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. The three lakes are drained by the Murgbach river, which empties into Lake Walen at Murg in the municipality of Quarten. The three lakes are: Oberer Murgsee (or "Ober Murgsee", Upper lake) at an elevation of 1820 m; the largest, with a surface area of 20 ha Mittlerer Murgsee (or "Mittlerer Murgsee") at 1808 m Unterer Murgsee (or "Unter Murgsee", Lower lake) at 1682 m

Oberer Murgsee (or "Ober Murgsee") is a lake in the Murg valley (Murgtal), in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It is the highest of the three Murgseen. The lake is drained by the Murgbach which empties into Lake Walen at Murg (municipality of Quarten).
