The Frank Sinatra School of the Arts is an arts high school in Astoria, Queens as part of the New York City Department of Education. The school, founded by Tony Bennett, is a major arts high school in New York City offering high school diplomas in six arts majors including fine art, dance, vocal and instrumental music, drama, and film. Each studio has its own dedicated teachers, classrooms, ensembles, and performances/exhibitions where students may showcase their work to the public. All students must audition for admission. Students in every Studio/Major are also allowed to audition for the Musical Theatre elective class, which in the past has put on performances such as The King and I, Anything Goes, The Secret Garden, Carousel, Footloose the musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Jonathan Larson's RENT, Aida, The Music Man, Ragtime, The Phantom of the Opera and Hairspray. Students can also apply for the Stage Craft class that teaches the students to work as crew for theatre productions and technical theatre. The school has a population of approximately 853 students. Student to teacher ratio is 18:1. The school holds one of the highest graduation rates of New York City public high schools. In 2009, 96% of the senior class graduated with 97% enrolled for college. The class of 2009 additionally completed 17,000 hours of community service while at FSSA. The class of 2013 completed 20,000 hours of community service and its members, as a whole, were granted approximately $120,000 worth of scholarship money. The school had two students win the Posse foundation scholarship in the class of 2013.

The Kaufman Astoria Studios is a film studio located in the Astoria section of the New York City borough of Queens. The studio was constructed for Famous Players-Lasky in 1920, since it was close to Manhattan's Broadway theater district. The property was taken over by real estate developer George S. Kaufman in 1982 and renamed Kaufman Astoria Studios. The studio is home to New York City's only backlot, which opened in December 2013. The property was designated a national historic district and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Baccalaureate School for Global Education (BSGE) is a New York City public high school located in the Astoria section of Queens, New York. BSGE was established in 2002. It serves a student body of about 400 students between the 7th and 12th grades. The is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer both the MYP (IB Middle Years Programme) and also the IB Diploma Programme. As per the U.S. News 2018 High School Ranking, BSGE was ranked #9 in the nation, and ranked #1 in New York. Applicants must succeed in an admission test, and satisfy other requirements according to the grade entered. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 476 students and 26.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.8:1. There were 149 students (31.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 54 (11.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Steinway Street station is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located under Steinway Street between Broadway and 34th Avenue, it is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train at all times except nights, and the E train at night.

The 36th Street station is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 36th Street and Northern Boulevard in Queens, it is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train at all times except nights, and the E train at night. The F and trains skip this station when they operate.

The 36th Avenue station (formerly known as 36th Avenue–Washington Avenue station) is a local station on the BMT Astoria Line of the New York City Subway. It is located at the intersection of 36th Avenue and 31st Street in Astoria, Queens. The station is served by the N train at all times, as well as by the W train on weekdays. The station opened along with the rest of the Astoria Line in 1917. Its platforms were extended in 1950, and the station was renovated in 2017 and 2018.

The Broadway station is a local station on the BMT Astoria Line of the New York City Subway. It is located above 31st Street at Broadway in Astoria, Queens. The station is served by the N train at all times, as well as by the W train on weekdays.

Trinity Lutheran Church is a historic Lutheran church at 31-18 37th Street in Astoria, Queens, New York. It was designed by John William Cresswell Corbusier and overseen by architect George W. Conable (1866–1933). It was built in 1926 and is a one-story Collegiate Gothic style building. It is constructed of brick faced with coursed rubble aplite trimmed in cast stone. The front elevation features a recessed entry with a large window above, framed by two spires with ornate turrets. The interior is in a Gothic plan of nave and transepts.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Zenon Taverna is a restaurant serving Greek and Cypriot cuisine on 31st Avenue in Astoria, Queens, in the U.S. state of New York.

New York Presbyterian Church is a Korean Presbyterian megachurch, located in Long Island City, New York, in the borough of Queens. The church is a Korean presbyterian church founded in 1970. The church affiliated with the Korean American Presbyterian Church in 1974, become member of the New York City Presbytery. In 1999 the church constructed its present building. In 2010 the church celebrated its 40th anniversary. In 2013 New York Presbyterian Church disaffiliated with the Korean American Presbyterian Church and in 2014 it affiliated with the PCA, which it has left soon after. In this year the church begun outreach ministries to English as well as Chinese people.Design and Theory The present building was designed by Greg Lynn.

Harold Interlocking is a large railroad junction located in New York City. It is the busiest rail junction in the United States. It serves trains on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line and Port Washington Branch, which diverge at the junction. Reconstruction work on Harold Interlocking started in 2009, as part of the East Side Access project to bring LIRR service to Grand Central Terminal. As part of the project, two tunnels for Northeast Corridor trains bypassing Harold Interlocking are being built to address congestion problems and occasional accidents.
