Doicești is a commune in Dâmbovița County, Muntenia, Romania, with a population of 4,686 people. It is composed of a single village, Doiceşti.

The Doiceşti Power Station was a large thermal power plant located in Doicești, with seven generation groups, six of twenty MW each and two of 200 MW resulting in a total electricity generation capacity of 520 MW. It used Lignite as main fuel supplemented by Natural gas . The chimney used by the 200 MW units was 208 metres tall. It was demolished to clear the site for the new project using a Small modular reactor.

The Chindia Tower (Romanian: Turnul Chindiei) is a tower in the Curtea Domnească monuments ensemble in Târgoviște, Romania, built in the 15th century. The tower was begun during the second reign of Prince Vlad III the Impaler over Wallachia and took its final form during the 19th century. It initially had a military purpose, but during its history, it has been used as a guard point, a fire spotter, and for storing and protecting the state treasury. Between 1847 and 1851, the Chindia Tower was completely restored by Gheorghe Bibescu who added 5 metres (16 ft) to its height. The building in its current form has a height of 27 metres (89 ft) and a diameter of 9 metres (30 ft). The Chindia Tower, the most important tourist attraction in Târgoviște, is considered the city's symbol; the tower elements are present in the city's emblem, at the top and also at the bottom. As a monument the tower now houses an exhibition of documents, weapons and objects which belonged to Vlad the Impaler. Today the tower is administered by the National Museum Curtea Domnească.

Târgoviște Princely Court (Romanian: Curtea Domnească of Târgoviște) represents a complex of medieval buildings and fortifications that served as the residence of various rulers of Wallachia and, at the same time, played a relatively important role in the country's defensive system.

Târgoviște (Romanian pronunciation: [tɨrˈɡoviʃte], alternatively spelled Tîrgoviște) is a city and county seat in Dâmbovița County, Romania. It is situated 80 kilometres (50 miles) north-west of Bucharest, on the right bank of the Ialomița River. Târgoviște was one of the most important cities in the history of Wallachia, as it was its capital from 1418 to 1659. At the 2021 census, the city had a population of 66,965 people, making it the 27th largest in the country.

Initially established as the Army Foundry (Romanian: Fonderia Armatei) through a decree issued by Domnitor Alexandru Ioan Cuza in 1864, the Târgoviște Army Arsenal (Arsenalul Armatei din Târgoviște) became an arsenal of the Romanian Army in 1872, being renamed as such in 1876. Between 1876 and 1935, it mainly functioned as a storage arsenal. During the Second World War, various weapons and equipment were repaired here.
