St Martin's Church, Osmaston is a Grade II* listed parish church in the Church of England in Osmaston, Derbyshire Dales.

It was built in about 1800 by a wealthy landowner and was the residence of many notable people over the next two centuries. Today it is a venue for special events, particularly weddings.

Sturston is a small area of settlement in the civil parish of Offcote and Underwood, in the Derbyshire Dales district, in the county of Derbyshire, England. It is located on the A517 road, 1-mile (1.6 km) east of Ashbourne. Sturston was formerly a township in the parish of Ashborne, in 1866 Sturston became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Ashbourne, "Offcote and Underwood" and Bradley. In 1931 the parish had a population of 225. Sturston Hall is mentioned in the Domesday Book as one of two manors held by Ulfkell and Wodi, each manor being of half a carucate (a Danish land measure) each. The two manors were given to Henry de Ferrers after the Norman Conquest. By 1348 Sir Ralf Rochfort had inherited Sturston, with Grendon and Shenstone. He died childless, and in 1386 the estates passed to Sir William Chetwynd, 1st Lord Grendon of Ingestre in Staffordshire. Chetwynd sold the manor of Sturston to John Kniveton of Bradley, son of Sir John Kniveton and the hall stayed in the ownership of the Kniveton family for several hundred years. By 1630 Sir Gilbert Kniveton, 2nd Baronet High Sheriff of Derbyshire had inherited the Bradley and Sturston estates which were sold by 1655 to Francis Meynell a citizen and goldsmith of London. The estates passed to Hugh Charles Meynell who sold Sturston to a Stoddart in about 1847. Mrs Elizabeth Stoddart was Lady of the Manor in 1857 with around 700 acres (2.8 km2). During most of its time the Hall was let to tenants, who farmed the land.

In 2011 the parish had a population of 220, which increased to 241 in the census of 2021. It is 120 miles (190 km) north west of London, 11 miles (18 km) north west of the county city of Derby, and 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) south of the market town of Ashbourne. Edlaston and Wyaston touches the parishes of Clifton and Compton, Osmaston, Rodsley, Shirley, Snelston and Yeaveley. There are seven listed buildings in Edlaston and Wyaston.

Shirley is a small village and civil parish in Derbyshire, 4 miles (6 km) south-east of Ashbourne. The population of the civil parish as taken at the 2011 Census was 270. It is situated in the countryside on top of a small hill.

Edlaston is a village three miles south of Ashbourne in Derbyshire, just off the A515 road. It is in close proximity to the hamlet of Wyaston, and the civil parish is called Edlaston and Wyaston. It had a population of 220 at the 2011 Census.It is very rural as the land is light and stony with a clay subsoil, which is suitable for dairy pasture. The village consists of a few farms and cottages and a traditional stone built public house The Shire Horse on the outer east edge of the village. To the west of the village is Edlaston Hall. It and its outbuildings have been converted to multiple dwellings.
