WXDX-FM (105.9 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania known as 105.9 The X. It airs an alternative rock radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia. The studios and offices are in Foster Plaza on Holiday Drive in Green Tree, Pennsylvania, but using a Pittsburgh address. WXDX is the flagship radio station of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. WXDX-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 15,500 watts. Its transmitter is located off Swanson Street in Pittsburgh's North Side, on a tower shared with KDKA-TV 2 and other FM stations. WXDX-FM broadcast using HD Radio technology.

Both stations share studios at the Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh, while KDKA-TV's transmitter is located in the city's Perry North neighborhood. KDKA-TV, along with sister station KYW-TV in Philadelphia, are the only CBS-affiliated stations east of the Mississippi River with "K" call signs. KDKA-TV is available on cable in parts of the Johnstown–Altoona, Wheeling–Steubenville and Youngstown areas, as well as several other out-of-market cable systems in northwestern Pennsylvania, western Maryland, northeastern and east-central Ohio, and north-central West Virginia. The furthest south KDKA-TV is carried on cable is in Beverly, West Virginia.

The Byzantine Catholic Seminary of SS. Cyril and Methodius is an American degree-granting school of theology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The seminary prepares candidates for priestly ministry to the Byzantine Catholic churches of North America. As of 2019, this includes the Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church, the Melkite Greek Catholic Eparchy of Newton, the Romanian Catholic Eparchy of St George's in Canton, and the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saint Josaphat in Parma The seminary was established by the Byzantine Catholic Metropolitan Church of Pittsburgh in 1950 on Pittsburgh's Observatory Hill. In addition to the training of priests, the seminary offers programs in deacon formation as well as a cantor institute.

The Allegheny Observatory is an American astronomical research institution, a part of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh. WBGG (970 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It carries a sports format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. Local sports hosts are heard weekdays from noon to 7 p.m. Other times, ESPN Radio programming is heard. The studios and offices are located in Green Tree. WBGG transmits with 5,000 watts, but to avoid interfering with other stations on 970 AM is uses a directional antenna at all times. By day a four-tower array is employed and at night, it switches to an eight-tower array. The transmitter is off McKnight Road in Ross Township, Pennsylvania.

McClure Township was a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania within what is now the North Side of Pittsburgh. It was formed in 1859 from parts of Ross, Reserve, and Robinson townships. Its original territory, bordering Allegheny City and Manchester Borough on the south and the Ohio River on the west, included the Woods Run area and present-day Brighton Heights. Allegheny annexed portions of McClure in 1867 and 1870, and the remainder in 1873.

The John Morrow Elementary School (also known as Morrow Elementary School and Pittsburgh Morrow PreK-5) located at 1611 Davis Avenue in the Brighton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1895 (with additions in 1922 and later). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 30, 1986, and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2002.
